absolutely. If we're even half right about the potential market for graphene - even a tenth right - there's plenty of room for multiple graphene companies...

spid - Nanene is not Versarien's only graphene product. Your comparison ignores that. A bit like criticising a Lamborghini Aventador for not coming equipped with a roof rack whereas certain lesser cars do. ;-)

One of the hurdles that VRS have had to cross is due to the vast sums of money companies have paid for graphene that is graphite. Poor test reults have slowed the uptake of good graphene.
Convincing companies that Nanene works has taken time and it looks as though tests have been successful and other appications are being tested by the same companies.

VRS produce the best scaleable graphene in the world Nanene, full stop.

No one is stating that there will not be competition and there will be other producers of good graphne to ISO standards at some time in the future.
VRS have a good global strategy of setting up production plants with partners in diffferent countries, so we have a big lead here.
Even when competition arises, it is no bad thing, VRS will not be able to supply every company that needs top quality graphene, but we will have a major share of the cake.

The quantity needed for worldwide use in 2020 and beyond will be huge.

Now take oil. Is BP the only game in town? No. Shell Chevron, Total, Texaco the list goes on, all making a very good profits.

So when shorters try to unsettle you by saying this or that competitor can do graphene (or think they can) so what, there is more than enough room for all.

I would have expected a few of our collaborations to have fallen by the wayside by now if Nanene did not work for them. The fact that they haven’t speaks volumes. Yes, taking longer than we thought but we are looking at development programmes and testing that does take time. Also production processes may have to change so a lot to consider. I trust NR to deliver far more than I trust a shorter sowing doubt to make a quick buck.

This wasn't even a "collab" just a speculative test of some 2D product, where that company now has tangible evidence of performance and must now be working out how they can redesign their product to transform their business with a view to coming back to Versarien to talk terms of supply.

Spid81.. you haven’t given any consideration to the laterals which is all important for the nanoplatelets to confer benefits to composites/ polymers etc as I understand it. If you have few layers with small laterals and lots of defects this would contribute to a low density which measure is therefore not particularly helpful perhaps.

Come on uk govt. Please organise the UK graphene industry asap. While we're waiting for intl agreement on iso graphene standards; Lets get our UK graphene house in order !

Instruct the NPL graphene characterisation service to publish their testing of uk graphene companies products publically. And those of foreign companies partnered with GEIC. Investors need to know this information, to give confidence to this emerging industry imo.

A lot of people would appear to be taking adantage of this drop at this level. Healthy number of buys coming though. If we can close blue here which isn’t outside the realms of possibility then going forward we have a lot to looking forward to technically imo.

Ellis I hold 20k, FWIW I did also sell 20k at 183p which I ploughed back into IQE. I do have some funds to buy some more here, when i think the time is right, but i wouldn't call that trading.
But the points raised this morning are valid, I need to do some more research on quality and competition, as PI's we shouldn't blindly rely on other people's research
