Loglorry, I don't know about superg, but I've got a Master's degree in Materials Science and I am currently doing a PhD in Materials Engineering and Manufacturing :)

IMHO superg's and mikebrenner's analysis of what has been holding graphene back as a technology until now and of what Versarien is doing right compared to its competitors is on point.

To me the company does seem to have the right production method for quality nanoplatelets, the right products in order to target what in my view will be the first movers on graphene, ie. enhanced polymers, composites, flexible screens and solar panels, batteries and sensors. I would hope that concrete will quickly adopt it as well because the economic and environmental advantages would be enormous!
Plus they also seem to have the right people, smart, dedicated and hardworking, which is crucial as well.

Then on your other usual point, that basically VRS has nothing special about it and it's products are no different from XG, FGM or AGM products...
Then 2 questions for you:

1) why would the NGA make Versarien the Inaugural NGA Industry Council Member and not XG? If XG is producing and selling hundreds of tons of actual graphene then VRS should be inconsequential with its 1 soon to be 3 tons. And yet who's the Council Member?

2) why would big entities like AECOM, AXIA, Unilever, Nike(?), IAI, etc, plus all the smaller companies, bother trying Nanene if they can already get as you claim tons and tons of good quality graphene at a cheaper price from XG?

Re collaborations, how do you imagine the process works? Do you think a company mixes graphene into a mixture, makes its product and says 'This is great, put an order in', or do you think serious stress testing has to happen over a period of time and then, having seen how good graphene is, they have to work out how to alter their production methods to accommodate the new wonder ingredient while the finance gurus work out the benefits. I am not surprised at all that these collaborations are taking time. This is disruptive stuff. However, it might be useful if VRS could say what announcements we should look out for between now and a firm order being placed. Should we expect progress reports or are these too sensitive?

Given that graphene is highly conductive thermally I'm surprised that hexotene isn't the material being tested /trialled by Advanced Insulation Ltd. Be interesting to see what occurs with this collaboration.

I would say IG is a very good platform. I use it as my primary account while do have HSBC Direct and HL as backups.

Sorry to go o/t but someone asked the other day about good trading platforms and II got some good feedback. However, ii's dealing costs are quite high (guess that's logical).

IG has lower costs...anyone had experience of it?

I started with the Share centre (share.com) which is now nearly useless (out of date trades and very poor cust. service).

They now log me out every 20 mins which is extremely annoying. Do they all do that?

Any thoughts would be welcome

Loglorry, why do you hang around here? Anyone who felt the way you do about current valuation would surely decide that's not for me and carry on researching other prospects. Something keeps drawing you back. What is it?

Another fantastic collaboration secured by Neill and his team openning up new industry sectors and applications for Nanene.
Subsea Insulation being an important mitigation for the Oil and Gas Industry to reduce waxing in the pipes, causing expensive shut-ins for removal and non-production days of facilities.
This will take time to test and get to market but the Research and Development (R&D) data gleaned from this collaboration can be applied to many Industrial processes.
All going towards de-risking our investments in the long term.
Great Work!!!

@SuperG just wondering if someone has a different opinion to you about a shares valuation does that make them a fraudster and a liar?

Do you then think the entire analyts community are fraudsters and liars everytime they publish a broker note?

I think VRS is a fine company at £20m market cap. I think it's way too high here vs it's peer group. Your CEO is ultra promotional which is not my style. I have no problem paying for growth but high growth companies actually show sales and sales growth not just tweet all the time.

One last question that you seem to keep ducking do you have a PhD or similar in order for you to comment on this field as you do?

Melf - no, not really. It is getting a bit ridiculous now though; ever more collabs (which are obviously essential to keep the deal pipeline stuffed) but still, to date, no significant/notifiable orders for nanene. All we ever hear are how successful the trials are, how clients love the stuff - but none of them have yet been prepared to put their hands in their pockets and buy it in quantity...

@iambix that's not true. I did tell you to sell TERN at 45p because the company said the NAV was 8p. It's now 12p.

it all sounds good to me.

"all collaborations going well"

graphene..."customers are wild with it"

just a little patience needed...an order could drop anytime..china etc etc

we are doing everything right.

and we want the collabs coming in all the time, they are the building blocks.

all good.

Some of today's share price fall may be linked to the results out today for Applied Graphene (AGM)

They say, "FY loss reduced but although both JBL and Airbus are now reaching the point of commercial inflection the completion of the testing regime required to meet customer expectations has taken longer than originally expected, and consequently the ramp-up in sales is likely to be later than previously anticipated."

Neill sounds as upbeat as ever on the podcast, but still no indication of when all this manic activity is going to translate into significant (ie notifiable) orders and revenue...
