Versarien PLC (AIM: VRS), the advanced engineering materials group, is pleased to announce, an offer via PrimaryBid (the "Offer") to raise not less than GBP2.9m by the issue and allotment by the Company of 2,000,000 new ordinary shares of 1 pence each in the Company ("New Ordinary Shares") at an issue price of 145 pence per New Ordinary Share (the "Issue Price"), being a discount of 18 per cent to the closing mid-price on 21 September 2018.

The Company is currently in advanced negotiations with Gnanomat S.L., a Spanish based company capable of utilising Versarien's graphene products in an environmentally friendly, scalable production process for energy storage devices that offers high power density, almost instant recharging and very long lifetimes for use in electrical vehicles and portable electronics products. If successfully concluded, Versarien will own a majority stake in that company and provide funding for scale up of a pilot plant. It will provide a centre of excellence for energy in Europe with access to a proportion of the cEUR1bn of research funding post Brexit, and access to Spanish graphene research institutions.

I don't know if Azonano are capable of producing best grade graphene. But they seem happy to quote from a previous article by others calling for rapid agreement on standards:

So today at work my customer tells me her son is doing a MA at Surrey University (Guildford) in chip design & nanotechnology. I got chatting to him and asked if he had heard of Graphene. He had and had done a whole disatation on Graphene. He knew about UOM he had even heard of VRS (HURRAH!!!). He was aware on how Graphene can improve chip design, speeds, etc etc. He was though of the opinion that Graphene can not be produced on significant quantities which is why it hasn't become mainstream YET.
Still it showed me that the Unis are talking to each other and that Graphene is been taken seriously in some sectors and as these students enter industry things will happen. He wants to work for ARM or IMAGINE.

For me it was the empty pile of gas canisters knowing each one took a thousand lives.. as for birkenau next door, that was off the scale. Just the sheer size of it and knowing it was for state sanctioned industrialised killing still makes me shudder...Seeing Coldplay a day later in Warsaw was the complete opposite in terms of emotion.. having said we went round the Warsaw uprising museum the following day and was equally dark .. Hey ho... Back to VRS and dreams of tomorrow.... 70p more gets me retired regardless of other investments....Craigy
