Indeed super, the 'waste' must have commercial value else it would be marketed. We await specs and applications in due course i imagine. Best ellis

* would not be marketed...sorry !

Oh dear re Derr or should I say oh Derr.

It seems there is a frenzy about a far too good to be true deal. They have put out news saying it may not go ahead (hearing due 27th, something like that). If that goes the wrong way it's back to a cash shell.

Hell fire it could all get very nasty of it didn't go ahead, I imagine there is going to be an absolute frenzy of activity there over the next week or so. Traders paradise for a week or two but charts and the like won't help a bit.

I'll watch with interest and beware of the connections should someone get a sniff of it going wrong if it flies.

They have Nanene and HP as posted. What I don't know is whether HP is the entire waste part of the process IE that between Nanene and HP it's a 100% yield.

If there is left overs beyond HP then that imo would be waste or as others around the world call it high quality 'graphene'.

I say waste but perhaps that can go through the inks processing system as it's already well down the road of layer separation.

As super mentioned, another nanene product in the offing, essentially the waste product, maybe 10 layers plus. But i wouldn't be surprised to see nanene further subdivided into 2 differing qualities ;

Very Few Layer Graphene (VFL) 1-3 carbon layers

Few Layer Graphene (FL) 3-10 carbon layers

Graphite (11 or more carbon layers)

Making 3 nanene products per the above standards. I recall neill saying in a poddy, nanene can be further worked as required to meet customer quality specs ie meet the 1-3 layer standard. If, i've understood it right ! Feel free to correct. Aimo. Best ellis

elliss - 'staggering' is exactly the word. NR used it in relation to the amounts of nanene Korea (Axia) and America (Aecom) might order, but I reckon it applies to VRS more generally...

What's going on with DERR.

I was going to look them up as snoopy mentioned them, he bought some Friday. It was because of the mention of Nigel Wray. I listened to him talk and he mentioned his digest of shorting small companies with his view being how on earth does that help a business grow.

Then I realised where he lives and believe in my distant past I kept an 'eye on things' for some folks in that area.

Just looking through prelims;

This statement interesting : 'Initial quantities of our high quality graphene (Nanene TM) have been supplied to support these collaborations, in some cases supplemented by other Versarien two dimensional materials.'

Wonder if we might get some leftfield announcements here re new 2D materials to the vrs stable ? Or collabs with Hexotene ? Or using the graphinks method to produce other 2D materials in ink form ? Graphene for me is just the warm up act ! And if your product offering is comprehensive and unrivalled, just imagine what deals firms might offer to get a foot in your door ? Surely staggering potential here ? Aimo. Dyor. Best ellis

Most of my shares are with Barclays. I just put a £20 limit sell on them without any problem though they would only let me put 26th October as the end of the order date.

Just a note, if you do this do make sure you aren't putting in sell at 20p rather than £20 which I nearly did!

Thanks for the info as ever superg. Do you know much about Deka? I see it would be through Deka investments for pesion funds etc so hopefully long-termers.

No 5% notification yet. However, do they have a number of funds? And also, though shorting is illegal in Germany itself does anyone know if it is illegal for German companies to lend to shorters in foreign countries?

(Just in case anyone accuses me of being a deramper, I hold 90k+, lowest buy 15p, check my history, I am just naturally a miserable git.)

Personally I'm a supernewbie, started investing only 13 months ago, only FTSE100 and 250 stocks at first. I started investing on the AIM with mostly terrible results so I didn't really trust any company on the AIM.. when I saw that VRS had gone from 10p to 120 and was starting to drift back down I read as much as possible about the company as quickly as possible (even used some of my annual leave days to go through the RNSs, Neill's Twitter and advfn posts). I have been a big fan of graphene as a technology for years.

5 days later I bought my first shares at 90p, and then topped up at 75, 65, 60, 70, 80, 90, 105, 115, 125, 150, 180, as funds became available and as news kept pouring.. However, so far something has kept me from investing 100% into vrs, you know, that's supposed to be very irresponsible, although I must say by now I have 99.99% confidence that whatever price I buy in, it will be (substantially) higher in the future. I'm mad at myself for not doing it before but I'm probably going to sell all my other investments to buy more.

Regarding the target, I don't really have one tbh, as we have seen targets keep evolving with news, collaborations and orders. If everything goes smoothly I don't see why the MC couldn't be in the several billions within a few years.

HL II have shares of PIs. I heard/read somewhere if you put a sell order (e.g. way high up sp) then they can't lend your shares.

To go through the list since October 2016 the following have sold out completely.

Black rock, Unicorn Asset management, City financial, Allianz and Henderson/Lombard odier.

Miton had 15 million earlier this year and I'd say they were down to 4 mill ish recently. Herald quite a bit less than that.

Amazing really the number of shares taken off funds.

That's why it's tough to short VRS with any vigour, there are not the holders out there to get the stock on loan.

Hence if Herald and co run out or stop it could be interesting when we hit news like China etc.

I doubt it run.

The only hint we had was in the FT as it listed Deka bank as a holder from the end of June data.

Behind the scenes on screens we can't see brokers busy on VRS can be seen and hence on occasions it throws up thoughts re potential buyers.

Blackrock were in VRS some time back. They were one of the first sellers supplying PIs at 10p, very kind of them.
