14/9/2018 21:31 | scottish, I think, as Spike said earlier, it should open with a mid price of 184p so down 3p. | woodpeckers
14/9/2018 21:25 | Spike, thanks very much for your explanation, really helps. Lucky you, Cloudy Bay! One of my favourites! Enjoy! | woodpeckers
14/9/2018 21:00 | Tks Spike.... So what will happen next Monday, assuming no rns, do you think? | scottishfield
14/9/2018 20:36 | Verger, regarding Brexit politics I would think that world leadership in advanced materials at the cusp of application would be an excellent lever on the EU to negotiate trade deals | redchef
14/9/2018 20:31 | campbed, well done for organising the apres AGM. Sorry, but I won't be attending. I shall be leaving straight after the meeting to spend a few hours on the great M6 north carpark. Chimp Andy1, I sympathise with you and your travelling. I had 47 years of it, the worst being when I worked on the construction of Sizewell Power Station in Suffolk. I live in north Lancs. Because of roadworks on the A14 and the widening of the M6 at Preston the journey could take up to 8 hours normally and occasionally up to 11 hours on a Sunday. Therefore I travelled overnight and went straight into a 10 hour shift. I did this every week for two and a half years apart from holidays. Annoyingly the pay wasn't very good but there was no other work about at that time. When the job finished I got a part time teaching job 30 miles from home and with family credits I was actually better off. Anyway, that's water under the bridge. Despite many ups and downs I'm now making far more money than I ever did working. I wish you and other holders the same luck. Anyone else, If you're going to the Somerset the evening before as I am, beware, taxis don't(or at least didn't) run very late in Cheltenham. Make sure you book one. Looking forward to meeting you all. | sandbag
14/9/2018 19:52 | Spike, still learning and I'm interested in your comment: 'The actual 'real' close was 182 /186 Therefore the real mid was 184, HOWEVER it is highly likely that open on Monday - because of the false Mid (auction entry) will show 187 - 184 = down 3.' I understand that 182 /186 was the price when it went in to auction but surely the fact that we had 4 trades in the auction having to pay 187 to buy suggests that the close was at worst 187/182 so mid 184.5 = down 2.5? Sorry, not nitpicking , just trying to understand how it works. | woodpeckers
14/9/2018 19:00 | bootie - not sure what Neil doing in Cardiff - speculation is that he was meeting Welsh Govt Reps - If so their remit covers all of Wales re jobs & bringing in New industries etc - Some persistent unemployment black spots in Wales I believe - Likely big grants available to try & turn that around - No time to google re Unilever plants in Wales (If any) - Heading off to the Sun for a weeks R&R.... | pcjoe
14/9/2018 19:00 | I sadly can't make the day before but I look forward to meeting everyone who can make it after the agm | chimpandy1
14/9/2018 18:58 | The actual 'real' close was 182 /186 Therefore the real mid was 184, HOWEVER it is highly likely that open on Monday - because of the false Mid (auction entry) will show 187 - 184 = down 3. This is to induce selling, as it was clear from today there are more buyers than sellers. If it was me, I wouldn't fall for it. Have a great week-end - Spike Edit: yup me and twin bruv' will be at the buffet after. As I understand it, it is in an adjacent room, but without the regulation name tag, you won't be able to freeload (as if), given the choice I would most definitely make an exception for rainbow. But seriously, unless you book (by Wed I understand), you won't have the opportunity, as grub is tailored to numbers booked. Given the minimal cost, it may well be worth booking regardless, to have the option available on the day. | spike_1
14/9/2018 18:49 | Off to Chester Races tomorrow - can't see anything running with a name even vaguely cryptically related to VRS - oh well back to sticking a pin in my Racing Post again. :-) Good Weekend All.. | whiteslice
14/9/2018 18:49 | Sadly can't stay post the AGM but I'll be sampling The Set's vino the night before. | woodpeckers
14/9/2018 18:48 | 50k late reported sell from an hour before close. So that's where they got their supply from! They got gobbled up though, by our determined buyer.Wouldn't it be great if they actually started following the rules and reported their holdings via TR1? | festario
14/9/2018 18:41 | pcjoe, I thought NR visit was Cardiff, south wales? | bootie64
14/9/2018 18:37 | I'm going to go to the post AGM lunch and also will be in Cheltenham the evening before to meet up in the Somerset Arms if others are staying nearby. | redstone64

14/9/2018 18:10 | Great week for the SP! - Home from work & just time for quick Unilever google re anything bubbling away - Not sure if posted before but found this from April 2018 (Just before Unilever packaging RNS collab announced in May)- Almost certainly Nanene has crossed this new threshold "Unilever has opened its Advanced Manufacturing Centre in Port Sunlight, in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirralwithin, which it will develop new packaging materials technology." The Wirral? - Not too far from North Wales that.... | pcjoe

14/9/2018 17:21 | Spare a thought for rainbow folks. He's now resorting to selling plant pots he steals from peoples gardens to cover his short. What happened to 3 red days in a row? | shammytime
14/9/2018 17:21 | Pshevlin - how nicely put! | verger
14/9/2018 16:53 | Just a thought: would the government prefer to delay any China deal news until after a brexit deal so that they can say ‘Look at what is possible now ‘? In other words, it’s politics on our side that is delaying an announcement? | verger
14/9/2018 16:51 | If you can’t Superg then I have no mission 🤨 | kemorkid |
