But there weren't 7 bloody billion humans back then!Greedy ones, wasteful ones, squandering resources and polluting the hell out of the planet they need to live on.Anyone seriously think that the disgusting way we live this last 40 years has no effect on our environment? I hear the counter arguments, but I'll stick with the 99% of scientists who seem to concur on this issue.

jv,

I'm of an age when I remember the ice age predictions, too. Not intending to turn this into a discussion on global warming (it is a VRS BB), also I have a policy of never discussing religion, politics and climate change while sober which is my current state of being...Might be tempted to continue discussions over a pint or three if you're coming to the AGM next month!

This was partly to show you can read anything into a graph and trying to guess future trends has it's pitfalls. If you do fancy following up on this, there are graphs which show a correlation between CO2 and temperature using the same ice core data - it does beg the question, what was mankind doing 120,000 years ago which caused CO2 levels to rise to the same levels seen today? None of the archeological digs have turned up any coal fired power stations or evidence of diesel transport (yet!).

I don't think charting is going to apply here...

Nanene, Graphinks and all the other little beauties.

Oh yes.

Bootie64 - Clean Disruption. I am blown away. Utterly compelling.

No mention of graphene but plenty of opportunities.

If we can tap into even a tiny part of that...

For those that missed it

Just a point on your chart not the share price claims.

You are using the 200 day average for the share price not the trend line.

EG on the 200 day average line it's simply the average price maintained for 200 days.
You may note the 200 day line was sitting at 30p at one point while the actual share price at the time was £1.20.

To hit an average of £1.60 on that line by the year end it would need to be £1.80 right now and keep that as an average until the year end.

As we are in the £1.30's it would have to go over £2 to get to that £1.60 200 day average.

Your line if you use that forecast the current share price as 85p when in fact we are in the 1.30's.

The great thing about that Tony Seba video is that it makes you realise how quickly 2d technology could be adopted. My timeline for company growth has changed. Neill's comments about this being 'disruptive' all suddenly fall into place, (you'll understand if you watch the video).

I'm now more certain than before that 'sometimes you really can be in the right place at the right time...you just have to believe it.'

Looking forward to another exciting week ahead.

The share price is driven by news and news only. The prospects of the company are defined by this. Technical’s can define a share price on a short term basis unless an RNS redefines its future.

Zap & Go are all over their own web-site with promise of products out this year and next - No escaping from that given previous form if they fail to deliver by end of 2018 - If I remember right they had 20 or so employees working from 3 "secret" locations - Not promising, but they have managed to convince some high profile & respectable collaborees (including VRS & Williams I think) & grant aid body to hand over money - If its a con they`ll be out the game soon enough

All our graphene products and projects are tailored to individual customers and are covered by non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) with the customers concerned. I am therefore not able to discuss them in detail. All that I can say is that we do not have a standard range of graphene products of our own. Instead, we work with different companies and institutions who are working on graphene projects. They lack the knowledge to develop their concepts into viable inks and coatings. This is where we can help. Firstly, we can help to formulate the inks and coatings. Secondly, we have the manufacturing facilities to make the products in bulk.

megan - I sincerely hope that NR is not so smitten with Stephen Voller that he gets lured into buying Zap&Go into the Versarien group or even taking a stake. That really would worry me. The existing collaboration is enough of a punt in my opinion. Luckily we have some very impressive collaborations with real big solid partners, so the outcome of the Zap&Go relationship isn't crucial. I hope it does prove successful - but not holding my breath. :-O

Rockraven ... And just to be clear I am heavily invested in VRS ... That is why asked the question the other day for any recent investors in zap and go to contact me by private message ... So I could ask some questions as might consider an investment in zap and go ... And know it is private. Have seen the colourful history of the CEOs previous companies. Will contact NR / Versarien separately.

I see posters excitedly quoting Zap&Go predictions. Unfortunately that company and its boss have a history of unfulfilled predictions. I hope this time it's different and not just more hype.

When someone pointed out Brazil's huge potential, former Prime Minister Harold Macmillan reportedly replied "Yes - Brazil has great potential and always will have."

Zap&Go has huge potential.

Ahh, I didn't see that posted and not surprised that it was posted by you superg :)

Hopefully that 's' curve will be 'vrs' curve

I originally watched it from a link on the JTC thread last year and forwarded it on to many work colleagues, most didn't even watch it. I put it up here as I'm sure many will forward on to colleagues/ potential new investors? too

CotswoldSparky - when I was studying Environmental Science at university back in the early 70's (quite a novel subject in those days, it was only offered at two universities) the consensus was indeed that the earth was heading for another ice age. But that was long before Al Gore required a platform from which to preach...

And just to be quite clear, CO2 is a green house gas, green house gasses do affect the climate, man has raised atmospheric levels of CO2 from circa 300ppm to 400ppm, therefor man has and continues to have an effect upon the climate. It all starts to get a bit muddy after that.

Bootie, you may not be surprised that the video has been seen before (on the other thread. Nearly a year ago, so good that it has been posted again.
I think the 's' curve is in its infancy 👌

This Imo is fascinating

A brilliant video to show how those that said "it will never happen" ended up looking foolish.

The revolution on the way. Don't be put off by the length of it, it's very interesting and covers various topics.

The one bit that made me smile was Kodak. Record sales in 2000 bankrupt in 2012.

Why did they go bankrupt..... digital cameras.

Who invented digital cameras???

Kodak

In the video it shows the EV revolution on the way. solar and so on. Well worth watching and you will see the names that said Iphone will never catch on, solar will never work, EVs.

In fact the guy himself made short term predictions where is was laughed at and the actual has exceeded his forecast.

Graphene is coming guys on 1000's of fronts, some have key leads, some have nothing.

Linking the subject of charts (above) and global warming discussions of a couple of days ago, I wonder what chartist would make of the graph in this link...

Temperature data inferred from permafrost ice cores going back over 400,000 years. Basically it works like tree rings, distinct ice layers build up each year, the colder it is, the thicker the layers.

Now, if anybody asked my to extrapolate that graph as an Engineer, I would conclude we are heading for an ~8 degree drop in temperatures. Another ice age would be pretty catastrophic, if you ask me!

Hang on, all these greenhouse gasses increase temperature, don't they? Surely we can balance the temperature drop by creating more greenhouse gasses, not less. Get those tyres on the bonfires!!! A sound engineering analysis*, isn't it?
