chumbo - over the many years (I'm now 70) I have held stakes in companies that were on the verge of worldwide greatness, with a product nobody else appeared to have, on the verge of moving from loss to profit - only to be unexpectedly pipped at the post or defeated by some 'black swan' event, or by failure to manage that stage where growth costs overtake available funding and having to accept a takeout bid. Experience of such "absolute cert" situations has naturally coloured my approach to every position I take or consider taking.

Also, as a building surveyor (one of several design/construction/restoration hats I wore) I was paid to spot defects - doing so is engrained in my makeup! - so I am not blind to the downsides that might have impacted VRS and could still do so; VRS is not immune. But the ratio of upside prospects to downside risks with VRS is so strong that I do manage to sleep at night knowing every penny I and my wife have is invested here. (Not sure my wife is quite so sanguine but she kinda almost trusts me).

Are there really any relevant past comparasions to vrs ? The exploitation of 2D tech is probably the biggest industrial revolution since the original, where we exploited the 3D world here in the uk ? Aimo. Best ellis

I remember Sam Huebner doing a lot to keep PI's up to date but agree that we are spoiled with newsflow here and now we have Twitter and Vox to add more colour.

Very valid point though Chumbo. I suppose a major difference here is transparency: at least, this company is UK based, actually very near to where I was brought up, and thanks to Neill's excellent communication strategies, I feel we are being kept nicely abreast as exciting developments unfold. Conversely, with Iofina, alas, shareholders are constantly in the dark.

Enjoying this dialogue re caution. Hands up those here who a few years ago were supremely confident that IOF would be flirting with a tenner or more by now? Strength of conviction sadly doesn't guarantee success so a sensible person might indeed rebalance after a good run.

Great find teepee. I see one of the chinesd partners is the 'chinese state' who have a 'proposal' relevant to 'research'. I wonder if this means, in effect, the chinese govs involvement guarantees protection of IP ? Especially as vrs already has a 'special relationship' with uk gov ? Interesting. Aimo. Best ellis

Volsung - What's wrong with a bit of overexuberance when you have had a eureka moment and think you've actually found a decent share which could potentially change your family's life?

Get what you are saying volsung and it is important to remember, I am guided by NR's level head though and the HMG involvement which when you look at the Chinese provinces you are not talking about a KG here and there!

I have you as being over reactive though due to you being in and out of VRS , not knocking it and probably the sensible way to go, however, opportunities in finding an AIM share with an honest CEO and global interest are hard to find.

If you scroll down and look at the map of the provinces it appears that all of them down the East coast are involved, very interesting.

Wow. A lot of quite worrying over -exuberance here. VRS is 10 per cent of my pf and I consider that a bit scary.
Seen too many good things fail over the past 30 years to get too carried away.

100% for me.
Fortunately sold JAY @ 23p and PANR @52p to finally go all in @20p last year. But since then have carried on topping up when funds were available.
But like Scrutable I have lost it all twice before, so I am always a nervous investor!

Thanks for that presentation Teepee, some interesting details.
