16/8/2018 18:34 | Sonson, nobody is advising. Just sharing what you're doing doesn't equate to advising. Or does it? | ![]() ashehzi
16/8/2018 18:34 | The idea of America being first makes sense - assuming any deal comes with pounds signs attached to it: I get the sense that valuation has been a sticking point with the Chinese, so the obvious thing is to try and do a deal elsewhere that boosts the company's value... [edit] plus of course a deal in America would make the Chinese feel they're falling behind the Imperialist running-dog, so should concentrate a few minds... | ![]() club sandwich

16/8/2018 18:31 | For non twitters, the NR SG1 poll is currently 135 votes, 90% for, 10% against. And I'm 90% in, comfortably in six figures (never like to divulge actual numbers). | ![]() realcooltrader

16/8/2018 18:25 | So SG1, it's about 13 shorting, which suggests every one of them has currently voted no in NR's poll about you. | fred splange

16/8/2018 18:15 | Fair comment Grabster. A case of me trying to type, one-handed on a mobile whilst holding a telephone in the other hand on a conf call. More accurately the % had changed from 88:12 to 87:13 - but that was too much to type with auto-correct also getting in the way. | ![]() battery
16/8/2018 18:13 | In which case I hope Mr Ricketts won't mind too much that his company is now 95% of my portfolio, since I abandoned TERN.So, I'm in as much trouble as HE is, if things don't pan out,Except I'll be sleeping in a park.So..... 16/8/2018 18:06 | Pleased to see we are off this 'false bottom.' The USA theory looks credible, given neill is off to cali soon. Hopefully to tie in with good news on the accreditation as a 'verified producer' by NGA ? Aimk. Best ellis. | ![]() ellissj
16/8/2018 18:05 | It could mean that Grabster BUT at least 2 of us have spoke to IG at length re that. It's simply the number of clients long or short. EG If you had 9 long with 100,000 shares each and 1 short with 1 share it would show 10% of clients as short. IG shows they have 51-250 clients in VRS with 13% short. It seems to make 1% moves so I assume the actual clients number is either side of 100 clients. If it was nearer 50 then we would see 2% moves each time it changes. They rest hope this apparent buyer/s isn't in aggressive mood as the last time this started they took it up materially and it makes it difficult to close in numbers if they keep taking out the supply. We'll just have to wait and see. | ![]() superg1

16/8/2018 17:58 | One tweeter has just posted he has reached his 30% of portfolio limit with VRS. Neill has replied "Rules are there to be broken" with a wink. That's quite a statement encouraging someone to break their investment strategy. What price imminent news now? | redchef
16/8/2018 17:52 | I see one or two posters are still presuming that a change in the percentage of shorters at IG indicates a change in the number who are short. It doesn't. It is perfectly possible for that percentage of clients who are short to go up or down without the number of them going up or down. That can happen whenever the number betting long has altered. Eg; If there are, say, 90 clients long and 10 clients short, the data will show 10% of clients are short. If the percentage figure for shorters drops to 9%, it could mean that one of those shorters has quit. But it could also mean none of the shorters has quit and eleven new players have gone long. | ![]() grabster
16/8/2018 17:38 | I think most shorters are in top deep at this point. Robot on its way :) | ![]() sonsonnyjim
16/8/2018 17:34 | Thankfully it is not my problem - and yes I could be wrong, but still can't fathom out firstly why someone would short VRS at this stage of the game let alone increase a short....baffled | anotherdrink
16/8/2018 17:19 | Don’t read too much into the size of the bid entered into the auctions as a large buyer wouldn’t show his hand fearing the MMs would just raise offers tomorrow morning. I suspect it’s almost certainly part of a larger order being worked and a small bid is put into the auction in case something appears - worth doing as often auction bids and offers only go in at the last second to avoid spoiling. | lovat scout
16/8/2018 17:12 | interesting read maisto, welcome. Andy re the auction. What we see on level 2 on VRS is MM bids. In auctions direct bids or offers come in. Each auction today 20k or so appeared on the bid in each auction but no extra offers. The 19.5k didn't execute as no one on the offer side put up that amount at that price. In UT end of day trades they execute when prices cross. EG If a bid is there at 125p and an offer comes over the top for 125 or lower then it would execute. So no nothing will show tomorrow re that. Such bids were noted in auctions today and Fest reported good sized chunks could be sold so it seems a decent sized buyer has been picking up stock. | ![]() superg1
