30/7/2018 18:15 | Article today in physics world - perhaps this is the sort of reason we have hired a new head of research? It looks like graphene could become prominent in various areas of scientific development. Also everyone, I'm a holder and pledge to post less and certainly less pointless posts, just enjoy the conversation a bit too much. | sonsonnyjim
30/7/2018 17:53 | Lucky - that MM piece is about US markets so has relevance to UK but there are some differences. Since the Credit Crunch UK MMs rarely have much in the way of balance sheet to trade markets, focussing on the flow instead. As a result they are always moving shares around to try and generate business, whether that’s natural buy or sell levels or limit orders. This intraday volatility can be unnerving for some, which is why leverage trading really is not the same as investing. The ability of MMs to move shares is obviously dependant on liquidity and at this time of year there are some big unwarranted moves, which require investors not to lose sight of why they made their initial choice. US and UK markets both suffer the benefits and drawbacks of internet posters pursuing their own agendas. I think it won’t be long before the FCA are forced to make an example of a ramper or deramper. In short, I think some MMs suffer from low boredom thresholds and are always looking to generates some trade and price volatility is their main weapon. The more early stage or speculative a company is, the more vulnerable it is to share price volatility therefore I always keep some dry powder to burn! MMs have a responsibility to maintain orderly markets, so where I have a problem is when they are moving shares all over the place and not making commercial prices. That is where the FCA need to focus their attention. | lovat scout
30/7/2018 17:50 | Sonsonyjim is slightly pessimistic (IMO) rather than a de-ramper, he's not as bad as that WJDGD de-ramper fellow who popped up here a few months ago and is now on the LSE forum but there are some similarities. I think you get lots of bored people who become slightly obsessed with the share and when there is lack of activity can become an annoyance. We are at that time where we are awaiting news to see the next price level of this, therefore unless poster's have news or an educated opinion most of what people are posting on here will be trash. Maybe he should just keep his trap shut for a while and only post if there's something worth saying!! | cdub1
30/7/2018 17:26 | Black observation. Not even humour. Trust we were not being helped by Jeremy .Whatever, I guess the deal plus whatever else is included will happen by the next equinox. It's certainly going to have content if the length of time to construct the deal has anything to go by. ----Dyson solid state batteries. Will theybeat the Polestar (Volvo) on 350 mile range? They will if they have un peu of nanene therein . | alchemy
30/7/2018 17:25 | Tell me, what do you do with witches? | bootie64
30/7/2018 17:19 | Does it really matter? I mean it's not going to change anything, and if it culls a few waverers, no big deal. | axotyl
30/7/2018 17:18 | Eisman is shorting NR's idol Tesla (Musk) for "execution problems" That is, a lot of talk and not enough action. Now VRS is a gnat compared to Tesla but even a gnat has to show some sign of life. VRs's graphene is floating in the water, legs up. Zero sales apart from samples. No wonder the in-house broker hasn't given an price opinion for more than a year. They must be scratching their heads also. | belo horizonte
30/7/2018 17:09 | sonsonnyjim - as a lurker (and small holder) I sense (no disrespect if I'm wrong)that there is something dubious with your posts. This 'boards' voting stats seem to bear this out. | ewads
30/7/2018 17:08 | I've had the fellow filtered since he started posting, it's starting to grate that so many others feel that his regular adding of 2 and 2 and coming up with anything but 4 and continuous need for reassurance is starting to grate, yet they desist from using the filter button. (the above sentence is not so grate [great]) | turbocharge
30/7/2018 16:54 | I've managed to persuade my wife to top up, the 4178 and 4615 are hers. | realcooltrader
