Weakness in POO and weakness in US stock market today. Might have been a mistake to re-enter today.

Ghana new discoverey with map
Water depths range from <100m to 1700m. The Block is flanked by the Jubilee, Sankofa and Sankofa East oil and gas fields and the Pecan complex lies to the south.

Looks to be downside risk for POO at the moment, however I suspect that we may get some upside from TLW from here so I've bought back a small amount for 144ish

Middle East map needs to be redrawn.
The post WW1 1918 settlement needs to torn up.As does the Treaty of Sevres that ceded far too much to the defeated Turks.

Turkey, Syria, Iran, Iran all need to cede territory for an independent Kurdistan.

Try to keep on the safe side?

Libel refers to specific facts that can be proved untrue. A true statement that damages someone's reputation is not libel. (Although it might be invasion of privacy.) Libel laws are meant to monetarily compensate people for damage to their reputations–not to punish people who make false statements.

Either that, or reach an accord with the US.

morning SS, Iran is more or less frozen out of exporting oil. The only way exports can go is up, whenever that occurs, so a negative for OP going ahead, unless there's a wider regional conflict. Saudi IPO is only on the Saudi bourse with MBS strong arming the locals to invest.

WOW...

Unfortunately we now have those who will spout leak and fraudulent announcements.

Jeeeeez... The share price would suggest that a tighter ship is difficult to find. The share price suggests not even a whiff of leaked news prior to announcements.

What I can see though is a set of very small time PI's who wanted to hear great news, who were desperate to hear good news, who promoted the fact there was good news, without actually taking stock of the fact there was a Possibility only.

Learn to own decisions: It gets very boring reading that every single stock is corrupt if a PI calls it wrong.

Only when you see the doyens of PLCs in cuffs will it change. Tullow is run by bluffers and incompetent well paid fools

Another leak? Are you referring to the fact that Tullow must have known about nature of Guyana discovery crude BEFORE McDade made bullish statements? Have to say I was tempted to dip my toes in after the discovery was announced. I didn't but many PIs did. Do you think this should be investigated?

Billy,

Thats an interesting one. A few choice snippets from the FT.

....."The Springfield Group, which has no history of oil exploration, will in the next few days announce it has made two discoveries totalling 1.2bn barrels of crude in a block that it says will be bigger than the Jubilee field, Ghana’s biggest."
Actually that's the OOIP number, but never mind.

".....Springfield said it had made two discoveries in the past 40 days and hit oil in both. Of the 1.2bn in proven reserves, it said, 30-35 per cent would be recoverable. There were also commercially viable quantities of gas, it said.

“These numbers are still very early days,” said Lennert Koch, principal sub-Saharan analyst at Wood Mackenzie, an energy consultant. “But if it is in that range, it is what we would call a significant discovery.”

....."Springfield was given the block, known as West Cape Three Points Block 2, by Ghana’s government in 2016 after it was relinquished by Kosmos. The US company, which had drilled the block without finding oil, had returned it to Ghana following a protracted dispute with the government.

“A little African company says there’s oil when Kosmos said there’s no oil,” he said, conceding that prospective partners would demand independent verification.

Brandishing a small jar of the “extremely light” crude, Mr Okyere said it had been discovered at a depth of 3,323m in waters about 1,000m deep. Although that is deep, it is within modern drilling capabilities."

Sounds like WCTP2 is the relinquished parts of KOS/TLW's original WCTP where they made a number of sub-commercial finds.
