23/4/2019 15:02 | Thanks Peter....but in my case its a sweep up from the bottom - and no lock icon. Sadly. Still puzzling. | emptyend
23/4/2019 13:40 | Strange how Soco continues to underperform despite the share price looking a bargain. Soco remains the weakest in my small oil portfolio and the others, unlike Soco, are up today. E.g Premier up 5.3% and up over 50% so far this year. Diversified Gas and Oil, paying a bigger dividend than Soco, up 3%. And Hurricane up over 5%. And others up today include Volga, up nearly 20%, and Tullow up 3% and up over 30% this year. Surely Soco will join in soon, and if not, then why is the share price continuing to lag? | kenmitch
23/4/2019 13:39 | Sweep down from top right should open a menu which includes the rotate lock icon. It's caught me out before now! | greyingsurfer

23/4/2019 10:22 | Interesting post ee re Ghawar, there's a lot of less oil than people thought, but Matt Simmonds was pretty clear years ago, in fact had it not been for the rise of shale oil, he would have been pretty spot on I would guess. Shame they don't tell us about how production has fallen over the years, that would be interesting and if it's accelerating at Ghawar or leveling off, interesting they quote depletion at 1 or 2% but Ghawar has fallen by a 1/3 over what period I wonder ? What's happened to the water cut ? It would all be interesting to know, I agree with investors in general that I'd rather hold bonds than shares, especially at the kind of valuation they're looking for, K | kenobi

23/4/2019 07:26 | With oil flying up soco will be turning over solid cash flow good dividends that will rise hard not to have in your portfolio for steady safe gains through the year. | avsome1968

22/4/2019 17:52 | Fair enough T - all sensible stuff. Apologies for coming across a bit flippant but I really do think at these levels it's great value. I wish you hugely well with HUR - also a large position for me - if it comes off shareholders will do very well. | nigelpm
22/4/2019 17:49 | Hi Mick no gold. a rather chequered career with Stratex and Solomon has left me prejudiced against the sector. | tournesol
22/4/2019 17:31 | Just out of curiosity do you have any mining shares so related to the price of gold? | mick1909
22/4/2019 17:17 | Hi Nigel If you are responding to my comments, I'd point out I do not have "an E&P portfolio". I have a portfolio which currently has 22% allocated to E&P shares (HUR 13% and PMG 9%) with a further 3% in ETP (the pipeline company) and another 11% in PMO bonds. So my direct exposure to E&P is 22% with another 14% indirectly exposed. That's quite enough for me. I don't need to increase my sector exposure. My expectation is that HUR will make strong progress over the next 12 months and my level of confidence in that forecast is high. I think PMG provides an option over TC succeeding with the GPA project - and have a solid level of confidence that this will occur within 2 years. The holding in ETP and the PMO bonds provide a high level of return from fixed interest type holdings and high yielding utility type equity. My recent investment in SDX did not work out well and has been dumped. For the time being as far as E&P is concerned I am content to stick with my top conviction holdings rather than diversifying further. Outside of E&P I'm looking for quite different things of course. | tournesol

22/4/2019 10:32 | Got to be honest - if you can't find room in an E&P portfolio for SIA right now I'm not sure you'll ever be able to. | nigelpm
