02/4/2019 01:08 | Good timing IMO homebrewruss. I see we have a few holdings in common. If the slight tick-up in the SIA share price at close of play yesterday is anything to go by then you may have made a wise choice. No debt, good dividend payer, new acquisition, news to come now that there is a new chapter in the company's activities. I may even add more and never thought I would say that being down 65% or so including dividends. | lauders
01/4/2019 12:52 | I've joined the party today. Seems a great entry point with the acquisition due to complete tomorrow. Hopefully the market will start to recognise the value going forward but happy to collect the dividend in the current market while we wait for the market to catch up. | homebrewruss

01/4/2019 03:14 | Mrs May shuffles to the dispatch box .... she grimaces .... picks her nose one last time and speaks '' You lot are trying to make a monkey out of me and I am not having any more of it. I admit I never fully understood this Bexit thing and neither did my handlers but none of you has helped me to sort whatever it is out ... so I am leaving to go back to our small piece of forested belt north of the Congo with my mate. So I hereby announce to the house a general election is called for May 1st . Let's see how you like them bananas when those humans out there put the Gorillas in instead. 29/3/2019 18:16 | Thanks for clarifying. I'm not new to investing been at it for 20 years but just double checking the suspension angle as not been invested in many RTO or acquisition shares. | laptop15
29/3/2019 17:38 | Laptop , I assume your fairly new to investing ? The answer is NO! This will NOT be suspended due to this deal! Companies are usually suspended if the assets are regarded as a reverse takeover . This is to allow a company to publish a prospectus to enable an orderly market. If the company was to decide to takeover a bigger company in Egypt next week then yes it may be suspend but I doubt that will happen next week! | oilinvestoral
29/3/2019 14:27 | Any thoughts guys? Is this likely to happen on the 2nd or will it be delayed? Had some many delays recently on my shares my PF is taking a hit. | laptop15

29/3/2019 13:20 | I guess the movement of FX GBPUSD rate is pretty relevant. | nigelpm
29/3/2019 13:20 | It has a lot to do with Brexit if u live in Ireland and hold an IG account. If no deal Brexit I will have to close my account. Also Brexit has a big importance on the strength of the pound or euro. | laptop15
29/3/2019 13:04 | hahaha..what has Brexit got to do with SOCO?? Its two main assets are in Vietnam & Egypt and we are paid in dollars :-))))) | 0rient
29/3/2019 11:40 | Will this suspend on the news of the acquisition on April 2nd? Just don't want to get locked with Brexit up in the air | laptop15
29/3/2019 11:04 | Tyler19 How do you know about the other opportunities being considered ? Is this based on the recent OPHR RNS ? | oilinvestoral

29/3/2019 09:48 | Upon completion I would expect a clear framework on the activity planned in Egypt for the next 12-24mths - emphasis on explo upside and FCF generated from existing production. There is continuity with a team that SIA management have worked with in the past and no doubt during this interim basis of completing the transaction it is reasonable to assume it is set for all systems go. Whilst it has been indicated post completion that liquidity in the stock will improve to my mind it will be key how management portray the company as an attractive investment - I think it is fair to say there is a need for them to ensure quality PR is achieved. I would expect a high level of activity on this front with the AGM in May. | yasrub
29/3/2019 07:17 | Finally, things seem to be happening on an urgent basis and other opportunities being considered. Long may it continue. | tyler19

28/3/2019 12:56 | With GKP as of today I’ve offering a 6% dividend, GENL also is planning healthy dividends and DGOC offering nearly 10%, Soco management really need to pull a rabbit out of the hat! They have been dining out far too long on their “superior balance sheet” and “shareholder returns via dividends”. The fact that by the end of this year, their balance sheet will be surpassed by a number of their peers as will their dividend returns. Those companies also offer significant capital appreciation.... | oilinvestoral
27/3/2019 23:59 | So it looks like all those electric vehicles are not going to make much difference at all to our daily requirements of oil. Brave investor who locks out hydrocarbons from their portfolio. Optimists forecast that the number of EVs in the world will rise from today’s nearly 4 million to 400 million in two decades. A world with 400 million EVs by 2040 would decrease global oil demand by barely 6%. This sounds counterintuitive, but the numbers are straightforward. There are about 1 billion automobiles today, and they use about 30% of the world’s oil. (Heavy trucks, aviation, petrochemicals, heat, etc. use the rest.) By 2040, there would be an estimated 2 billion cars in the world. Four hundred million EVs would amount to 20% of all the cars on the road—which would thus replace about 6% of petroleum demand. | deld
