Today on twitter: Peel Hunt names SOCO as their top pick!
SOCO International plc

@SOCOIntPlc

Peel Hunt names SOCO as a top pick noting that the Merlon acquisition resets portfolio and that the “stock offers 8% div. yield and 17% production CAGR” #PeelHunt #SOCO #TopPick #OilandGas

Chevron bidding $33bn for Anadarko..........further up the food chain, but a sign that assets are too cheap?

We will be ex-dividend on 9th May so let's hope that by that time we see some positive share price action. With the likes of PMG, TXP (I hold), TLW, and PMO showing life it is sad to see SIA (I hold) left behind. I know there are other companies in the sector not performing that well (JOG took a big hit recently for instance) and we have a dividend but we need something to reinvigorate SIA!

So Norway is going to stop all drilling and oil production that it now controls.Or do you mean that as a sop to environmental campaigners they are no longer investing in foreign owned oil companies?

So with the price of oil around 60-70$ they have enough to cover an annual dividend and capex costs?

Dividend very well covered from cashflow - should see some decent increases on a two-year view (one year dividend increases less certain due to capex needs to drill aggressively in Egypt - and first well on 125/6)

With a dividend of 5p/share so roughly 7% yield at 70p/share and the so isn't climbing is there a reason for this is it sustainable each year?

Or it could be a lot of people taking advantage of their recent ISA allowances?

Cheers EE..poor reporting by the journalist then!
Considering PMO is up something like 30% in the last month then its had little impact on them 👍🏻

Norway doesn't hold any SOCO (unless they had a stake in Merlon....v.unlikely). I checked their holdings on their website when that story first emerged.They do/did hold PMO, TLW and many others though.

Hi Lauders..any idea on how big their stake in SOCO is/was? I've had a look on the major shareholder list and see no sign of them..
We did have that 7m volume day just the other week which hopefully cleared most of the overhang 👍🏻

Well time has shown that all the positive stuff from Empty and Nigela has had zero effect here , it's in terminal decline , while quality tlw and pmo have shown the way to make some serious wonka.
