So now let the re-rate begin. Good they are bringing a second rig in and getting things going from the off. Just need the market to sit up and pay attention now. From an "old poster".

When do the additional shares associated with the Merlon acquisition become live ? Just wondering if the share price may take a hit initially.

close of play today or 7am tomorrow is my guess for the RNS - won't release during trading hours.

The RNS states “...expects221; and not “ will complete”. Although, I do hope it’s sooner than later.

Agreed stepone, RNS today or tomorrow morning makes sense with the Friday RNS. They wouldn't say Tuesday unless completion was almost there

Also, I do hope that they do more than just confirm completion of takeover. A consolidated set of accounts post takeover would be good. Perhaps a future drilling plan for merlon, similar to what they have for Vietnam already. Is that asking too much?

They said on Friday it would complete today - I can't imagine it's slipped a couple of weeks over the weekend? Expecting confirmation today or tomorrow morning.

That was the plan based on approval from the authorities. However, I suspect today was merely a target date.

It may be a couple of weeks before it’s completed, making sure all the documents are in place.

The market don't appear to "like" the mgt of sia - understandably so?!

You could say that of a number of E&P cos, DH

Either that or merlon spent the money on further drilling. I prefer the latter in the current oil price environment.

SIA have 15months production to book on completion. From Jan 18.

Could this be as much as $50m?
Looking at the crude fiscal example in the presentation and adjusting oil to 60pb and 6.5k bopd production.

Any thoughts?

Yes and there's the obvious elephant in the room.
The market don't appear to "like" the mgt of sia - understandably so?!
Until they deliver on promise this will remain so.
All imho of course.

They paid too much for a reasonable asset in a high tax, unstable region.

Considering rre, this company should have done much better

Tullow is up 20% in the last two months. Premier is up 40% over the same time........neither have been doing anything dramatically different from SOCO - except that SOCO today is closing a deal that will drive growth. I would like to think that SOCO will see some material price moves over the coming weeks, now that there is no fundamental reason for the differentials to continue.

Yes, also been watching JSE! RSI is overbought at the moment. Should have bought lower down but alas funds not available. Let's see what happens to SIA's share price today. Probably not much!

Thanks Lauders, I'm liking these cash generative E&P companies at the moment.
This acquisition looks to be transformational.

JSE is another one I like with increasing production, throwing off cash and a divi decision to be made later in the year.

Think we will get an intra RNS, as it does say on Fridays RNS that the deal completion will occur on the 2nd so makes me think during the day.
