So I looked at the 5 yr chart to see if perhaps empty could use it to make things look a bit better

Wasn't there. But the situation last year was that parts of the KE assets were of interest but parts of the assets/structure were not. Deals still possible.

I didn't realise that SOCO are still exploring a deal with the Kuwait energy company... Slide 18 of presentation...did anyone hear anything about it at the agm?

They should be drilling right now!
From the presentation on the SOCO site:

A second rig has been contracted and drilling operations with this rig are expected to commence in June 2019. The focus will be on drilling more production wells and additional injector wells to enhance the secondary water flooding in the core El Fayum fields.

The link I posted was a previous Peel Hunt statement. If you search Peel Hunt have issued a 'Buy' recommendation late last week/earlier this week.

Looking at the AGM presentation I think this drilling will be during H2/2020 hence my comment that I expect a 'stand-still' year for Soco.
