I thought the share price did almost exactly what was expected today, maybe some minnows will be raising cash but the big bananas will be booking profit once again. For those grumbling about CB holders making far too much money out of the coupons plus the shorting plus the uplift, well, just imagine what any possible raise could cost if we couldn't count on their support in our hour (6 months) of need!

Genuinely surprised someone like Odey isn't up for a few sirius shares. Would have thought this would be right up his alley.

Indeed, the US certainly tanked......as you say, peeps will be selling anything of value, to raise cash.

We should expect (after another US sell off) that tightening of margins will begin to take their toll again. Liquid high risk stocks, such as SXX, will be a first port of call for any entity/person that owns them but needs to raise cash to meet margin calls elsewhere.

Edit: don't think it's time for the US to call in the storm just yet. Earnings not yet upon us but if forecasts start to splutter it could get ugly. Gold getting a bid finally. Lots of shorts to capitulate just above $1,220 (Did I ever mention I like piggybacking on short positioning?!) but they aren't falling just yet.
