11/1/2019 11:29 | It will be interesting to see if OPHR RNS a response to the unsolicited "informal" offer. Anything below 70p to start serious discussions and they are having a laugh. | romeike
11/1/2019 11:28 | FPM went after a 5% raise.. Perhaps the next offer here will be 51p..? Still way below what's acceptable to me I might add. Unless we get a white knight. | steve73
11/1/2019 11:20 | 48.5 - LOL, this is what you get when Mr Market mis-prices good quality LSE stocks. Stupid market. | valuehunter1
11/1/2019 11:17 | Wow 48.5p/sh time - lead balloon springs to mind.. | wbecki
11/1/2019 11:15 | Well I ain't happy with that. Let's hope this gets someone else out or a higher cash offer from M? | dunderheed
11/1/2019 11:15 | I have always thought 55p would be agreeable to most - perhaps the proposed 48.5p is simply the opening shot dwindling expectations as part of the negotiation process.. | yasx
11/1/2019 11:11 | Agree that another potential bidder might appear. Someone for whom the Tanzanian gas was of special interest and someone who was willing and able to wait for that asset to progress through to development. Yes, Shell would be one possiblility. £1 per share? Why would anyone bid so high after 48.5p? Imo, 55p could do it. | ed 123
11/1/2019 11:06 | Personally I can see a bid from shell coming in the focus of the share depreciation over the past two years has been Fortuna however the fundamentals of this company are excellent I wouldn't be surprised if shell will bid more than £1 for Ophir | specul82
11/1/2019 11:05 | 48.5p possible offer....amazing how the price jumped to 50p on the initial announcement. Goes to show the market knows best. Ophr should cone out rejected the bid. | spacedust
11/1/2019 11:04 | Clearly the board would not accept 48.5 and the market @ 45p thinks that there will be no deal. Will the boards announcement reject outright this offer and will they seek a white knight? | cb7
11/1/2019 11:02 | I would rather keep the shares at that price. Can't see the board recommending such an obviously low ball offer but disappointing that it probably sets up for the lower end of the acceptable range for a future "final bid". I think that anything less than 80p isn't really worth bothering with as investors could get a better return by just holding the shares. | romeike
11/1/2019 10:56 | 48.5p possible offer. I would say that has little chance of being recommended. | sporazene2
11/1/2019 08:58 | Then it looks as if the market is disregarding a bid, and has just reset the trading range going forward. | wbodger
11/1/2019 08:30 | It was close to 50p on the day of rns | ammu12
11/1/2019 08:28 | No I think it hit 45 after the RNS | wbodger
11/1/2019 08:19 | It's rising gradually you idiot | ammu12
11/1/2019 08:18 | PS I hope the Board if of the same mind. | wbodger
11/1/2019 08:16 | Yeah, but then why is it trading at what I agree is a derisory price? My experience is that the trading price is a better guide to what will be bid, like it or not. I would have been happier if this had traded around 55 after the RNS. | wbodger
11/1/2019 07:26 | Morgan Stanley Ophir's advisor has a target price of 80p on Ophir - let's see if they earn their keep as advisors or will allow assets to be sold on the cheap and be bested by 2nd rate advisors Stanchart who are advising Medco.. | ashkv
11/1/2019 02:33 | I couldn't agree more .55p for the whole company would prompt a McInroe moment from Booth - I wonder if they know who they're dealing with ? | ohisay
11/1/2019 01:06 | 55p. Why waste everyone's time? The bid will be about 70 — 80p to allow a decent premium for investors, if recommended by the board. I can't see them agreeing to an offer of less, it's not like Ophr is dying and needs to sell itself off for peanuts. Where's the benefit in that for shareholders? I like how you seem to think takeovers come with a premium for the acquirer! | romeike
10/1/2019 16:32 | Thanks for that vh. I have a few, but at a bit more than current share price Hoping Alan Booth will extract more than 55p. 55 pence is still only 375 million pounds. | wbodger |
