05/6/2023 13:13 | Love the shake on L2 by singer, drops on a buy to 8.5p with the other mm's but online they are bidding 9.1p ! 9.1-9.38p online Hell of a difference from 8.5-9.5p showing on the monitor | dave4545
05/6/2023 12:21 | Bubba, I saw on LSE that OPG were bidding for a coastal energy plant; I assume the recent NCD was to provide funds for a prospective acquisition although of course it could just be to bolster reserves. | tim000
05/6/2023 12:13 | 9.24am 211k buy 9.445p delayed 2 hours. 100k seller persisting. Must be not impressed, maybe selling to buy into a loss making stock valued similar, punters love them. | dave4545
05/6/2023 12:06 | Where you seen this mate? Not seen anything i just get my info bse or lse | bubbabubbabubba
05/6/2023 11:54 | Take it back there seems to be a seller into strength. 150k sale and 2 lots of 100k sold Nice 211k buy at 9.445p though Just clear out this seller and we should break through 10p quickly | dave4545
05/6/2023 09:57 | Blimey they do not want to let this go do they. Shaking it on any little sale. | dave4545
05/6/2023 09:48 | Currently 50k max at 9.42p, it could shift on any more interest but still the odd sell too to keep the mm's happy. When I see stocks like Chill Brands and Itx with valuations not far off OPG being chased up when they are loss making imagine what this should do when the word gets around the profits they could make this year and next | dave4545
05/6/2023 09:40 | I added more, there will be a 75k showing soon just under 9p | dave4545
04/6/2023 16:07 | I see on LSE that opg has raised INR 750 mn in NCDs prior to paying off its INR 2000 mn NCD, so effectively rolling over part of the debt. So current gross debt should be about £20 mn. Also talk of looking to acquire new production assets. Bubba, do you know any more? | tim000
03/6/2023 09:44 | Cashflow in Q1 was hampered by a very large increase in trade receivables, presumably delayed payment of invoices for the recovery in production that quarter. Cashflow in Q2 should be excellent, helping to finance the redemption of the £20mn NCDs. Looking forward to the next trading update, should read well. A lot has been happening in the business recently, which might explain the delayed update. | tim000
03/6/2023 09:38 | Speculation on my part, but the replacement of the CFO coincides with much improved financial management imho. | tim000
03/6/2023 09:12 | I was wrong to say there is no consistency between the UK and Indian accounts on borrowing, in fact the numbers align very well. The problem is more to do with the assets side of the balance sheet, where assets and net equity in the Indian accounts are much lower than in the consolidated UK accounts. I guess that is for the reason Florence mentions, namely that the Indian accounts exclude subsidiaries for trading coal and, more importantly, the JV solar assets. So it’s not clear at all whether these have been sold yet. What the Indian accounts do show, as bubba has mentioned, is that post repayment of the NCD, gross debt has fallen to about £13mn, from £43 mn in March 2022. That will have a large impact on debt service costs in the current FY. Also, there was a massive recovery in production, revenues and profits in Q1 2023, which likewise bodes well for the new FY given further falls in coal prices. Maybe reinstatement of a dividend is not too far away? The deleveraging of the business recently has been a great achievement by management. | tim000
02/6/2023 13:37 | This is a mid long term play on the next stage 6-12 months Fundamentals are there and seems to be better shape than ever beforeI can't help feeling we are missing something- for the share price to be this low | nathandc
02/6/2023 13:21 | Don't understand where the announcements are at least tell us what is happening | bubbabubbabubba
02/6/2023 08:29 | No way do all those mm's drop on a 15k sale. 8.461-8.88 online has to be a delayed sale for this drop. I cannot keep buying more eggs in one basket and all that. So somebody else gets a decent dip | dave4545
01/6/2023 22:46 | Thanks Tim. Perhaps I should just leave all the accountancy stuff for you two experts. Like I said earlier there will be a trading update this month for sure. | dave4545
01/6/2023 22:43 | It’s within the “Other income” line in the profit/loss account for the UK. Footnote 10b in the auditor’s report gives further details. | tim000
01/6/2023 22:26 | Florence Where does it show they sold the coal for all that profit ? Sorry accounts not my strongest forte | dave4545
01/6/2023 12:08 | Interesting point Florence, that seems entirely plausible. But I still struggle with published balance sheets in lakh and sterling, where the borrowing figures don’t seem to convert from one currency to the other, and I doubt your point reads across to the debt figures. | tim000
01/6/2023 12:00 | Hi Tim/Jail, I too have been struggling to marry the March 22 Indian and Uk reporting. There are still a few things that I can't reconcile. However, I noticed something interesting this morning. If you take out the 7.4m of coal sale profits (the coal they opportunistically sold to take advantage of the price spike rather than bother turning it into energy) then the profit for the year figures approximately match up. As the Indian reports are for OPG Power Generation ltd, is it possible that the coal sales were conducted in another OPG Power Ventures PLC subsidiary? Which explains why they appear in UK numbers and not Indian numbers? If this is correct then that would explain the discrepency and better yet, give more confidence that the recent numbers from India are genuine. Thanks. | florence141414
01/6/2023 11:42 | Not me buying this morning so nice to see others see the potential. | dave4545

31/5/2023 16:27 | Yes Tim000I do not get that it either | jailbird
31/5/2023 15:47 | Have you seen YU. as well profits ahead again. They made £5.5 mil in 2022 so lets say they make £7 mil this time around, market cap is £90mil+ 3 times the market cap for substantially less profits to come from OPG. That's the market for you, almost every trade now is a sale, basically I'm almost the only buyer of this in this market. I'll hold for gold, maybe it will help if OPG release all these hidden figures via a RNS here | dave4545 |
