Funny how they did not take time to filter through when they were rising though jailbird

They went from making £20 mil+ profits to loss making in no time

But it's not the same in the other direction according to you ?

Any coal prices decreases will take time to feed through You need to know at what prices their next stock inventories will be at.I am not sure is there are advanced stocking at fixed prices which would be in place prior any fall

I'm at a loss for this today.

Now Cenkos switch to 6.1p offer from 6p bid

If Coal prices are tanking then surely this should be rising or even flying.

It's material to OPG profits going forward

If Newcastle coal price stays down then of course would expect price of Indian and Indonesian coal to reduce also at some point.

Should be a better day tomorrow 25% drops in a huge commodity is massive...the rise the other way has meant opg being loss making from previous 20mil+ profits

lol it actually tells you why on the page :-))

Newcastle coal futures, the benchmark for the top consuming region of Asia, tumbled below the $300 per tonne mark, the lowest since April 2022, as prospects of increased supplies and reduced demand prompted investors to unwind some long positions. Top consumer China recently permitted three central government-backed utilities and its largest steelmaker to resume coal imports from Australia, the first such action since Beijing imposed an unofficial ban on Australian coal imports in late 2020. At the same time, warm weather, particularly in the US and Europe, has delayed the winter heating season while easing some concerns about fuel shortages. European coal imports in January are likely to decline nearly 30% from a year earlier and 23% from December, Kpler data showed. Still, China is taking significant steps to boost its economy and end its strict coronavirus-induced regime, which, in turn, should increase demand for coal in the medium-to-long term.

I was looking at that coal chart yesterday. Still 350 so way higher still than previous years, be nice if that could start dropping or they can pass on price increases and become highly profitable again

You’re right OPG is so under the radar. Priced on 0.7x normalised EBIT.

Ridiculous.

Wins open down at 6.2p

First 2 sales go on Asqe where Wins operate so does that show you how L2 operates

It's Wins that want to buy the stock so they drop the price and people start selling
and they are the ones that are pretending to be the sellers but they are buying

Maybe they see a 5-10 fold return long term.

And we cannot rise 10% because each time it looks good somebody gives up and sells 100-200k

A massive seller cleared here recently. Look at ITS on clearing their sellers went from 5.5p to 7.5p today at one stage

Do they own 10% or 5%? Or 2.5 each for each filing

They only have 5%, even if they add further I don’t see what influence they can have, even if they are supported by other institutional shareholders. They failed at Block Energy, didn’t they. Even if one calls them activist, it must be that they see a lot of value at the current share price. I’m sceptical whether their interests are aligned with private investors - Block shareholders didn’t think so.
