Have you seen YU. as well profits ahead again.

They made £5.5 mil in 2022 so lets say they make £7 mil this time around, market cap is £90mil+

3 times the market cap for substantially less profits to come from OPG.

That's the market for you, almost every trade now is a sale, basically I'm almost the only buyer of this in this market.

I'll hold for gold, maybe it will help if OPG release all these hidden figures via a
RNS here

Well they are going to make spectacular numbers similar to Bisi, problem with Bisi is the management seem to be draining the company of all the cash with criminal salaries and other iffy ventures.

Here in OPG everything is well run and so far nothing iffy.

So if they make £20-30 mil next year they really need to be sitting back on a £80-100 million market cap and even that is stupid on the low side.

3 times the current price or 25-30p range

And we get all this inside info for free courtesy of them issue documents in India got to love that.

And people sell...you have to shake your head here

Yes, indeed, but then the numbers don’t seem to correspond very well to the UK accounts.

I struggle with the accounts expressed in lakhs, but it does appear that there were additional repayments of debt in H2 2022/23: between 31March 2022 and 31 March 2023, total current and non current borrowings fell from ca 42900 to ca 33000 (balance sheet published on 25/5/23). So post repayment of the NCD, I guess gross debt is now well under £20 mn.

The thesis here was always that profits would return just as soon as coal prices and shipping rates returned to relative normality. It's good to see the first tangible evidence of the recovery playing out exactly as most of us on here anticipated. I'm hopeful that the subsequent share price re-rate is just a matter of time now.

On that link above coal is down another 4% today

Not seen this level since July 2021 but still a way to go to get to prices before it all kicked off in Ukraine.

But OPG is already recovering rapidly.

I see Winterfloods do not want the price to recover shaking it then moving back up on any interest.

Net debt reduced by £2.7 mn in H1, during the peak period of coal prices and the consequent slump in power generation. H2 should be much better in both respects, so net cash looks feasible.

Net debt was £4.2 mn at 30/9/22. Personally I can’t convert the accounts published in lakhs on bseindia into sterling, the conversion is too difficult. I’ll await publication via an RNS. But yes, hopefully we’ve moved into net cash during H2 FY23.

But with the 20 million profit surely we must have a net cash position

The company has repaid ca £20 mn of 9.85% non-convertible debentures, which were issued during covid to increase liquidity of the business. There is still about £20 min of debt outstanding due for repayment next year. From memory, the company had built up holdings of various financial assets which were held as security for repayment of these debentures. So repayment of the NCDs has probably not affected net debt, but it has obviously reduced gross debt and interest payments.

It’s not bonkers. Profits were 6p some years ago off a smaller installed base.

We are going to have to have a period of super normal profits in order to encourage anyone to invest in the sector again.

wow just checked.

There is zero correlation with stocks in this market. Nobody cares if a stock is a bargain, profitable etc etc if it's not got momentum nobody will touch them, look at today, 2 sales not one buy.

Should be flying. OPG will be heading back to £20 mil+ profits at this rate
