17/1/2023 16:34 | Have coal prices all moved high since our last discussion? | jailbird
12/1/2023 19:24 | Agree but as you must know this has been going on for most if not all of 2022 so numerous 1% thresholds have been crossed and not a peep of a holding RNS so far. | dave4545
12/1/2023 18:48 | Their is only three major shareholders. It won't be gupta, id imagine its one of the two funds that are selling. | igoe104
12/1/2023 17:57 | And there it is 250k worked sale at 5.9p This is just endless ! | dave4545
12/1/2023 16:48 | It’s hard to imagine a more difficult trading period for OPG than the past 18 months or so when their two main input costs, coal and freight, jumped around 400% and 1000% respectively. The fact that the government were willing to move the goalposts so that OPG could more or less breakeven despite these extenuating circumstances (albeit with a bit of coal profit taking mixed in), shows how necessary their energy production remains. It seems only logical that, once these issues have abated, the government will be inclined to set the tariffs such that OPG can return to profitability and keep supplying much needed energy. Why wouldn’t they? I think it’s possible that these factors have been overlooked by the market and there is a very good multi bag opportunity here just waiting to be snapped up. | florence141414
12/1/2023 13:41 | 250k worked sale the other day 250k buy on Asqe today so no doubt another 250k will show later. I contacted Cenkos but they never got back to me about who the seller is and why they are not disclosing it | dave4545

04/1/2023 11:53 | Right on cue again, around 500k bought and 500k worked sale at 5.9p appears Never ending | dave4545
04/1/2023 08:43 | Noticed the buys keep coming and also the sells getting worked. Another 500k at 5.9p looked like a buy but was clearly another sale after a glut of buys near 6p Annoying the seller is allowed to continue with updating the market with a holding RNS | dave4545

16/12/2022 12:09 | You can buy anything you want at 6p | bubbabubbabubba
16/12/2022 04:33 | Bit of a head scratcher given the stated goal of deleveraging the balance sheet. And that they have literally held onto the cash from the previous NCD and invested it into mutual funds at lower rates than they are paying. Will be interested to see what interest rates they get. The only upside I see is if they are locking in rates below current NCD rate and repaying the bank debt which is floating rate (see interims vs year end). | cvjr4
15/12/2022 14:45 | Looking to raise approximately £20M in debt again. Should be proposing any buybacks if that is the case. And what about monies raised from the solar asset, will that not be enough? I hope you are right, that it would be to re-invest in renewables proposal to borrow and raise funds by way of Loans, working capital/term loan facilities, issuance of bonds, issuance of listed, rated, principal protected, senior, secured, redeemable, Market Linked Debentures (or such other forms of debentures as may be determined) / other debt instruments on private placement basis, in one or more issues / tranches/series, for an amount upto Rs. 200,00,00,000/- (Indian Rupees Two hundred crore) to such selected group of person(s) as may be identified by the Company from time to time. | jailbird

14/12/2022 17:58 | The company has said it wants to substitute Indian for imported Indonesian coal, on cost grounds, and Indian coal output is expected to increase significantly next year. I believe one constraint had been the lower cv value of domestic coal, but it seems OPG can reconfigure its boilers to address that. Indian coal seems to be a lot cheaper, and currently accounts for only a tiny proportion of OPG’s consumption. So plenty of scope for cost savings, independent of general coal prices. | tim000
14/12/2022 17:47 | Coal in australia is getting capped at £70 pound Indonesian never went above $100 dollars and Indian coal wouldn't be surprised if it didnt go above $100Things are coming down only a matter of time | bubbabubbabubba
14/12/2022 13:23 | Bubba what forecasts for coal are you reading? I just googled this By the end of 2022, Fitch expects the price of coking coal to reach $370/t. In 2023 and 2024, it will be $200/t and $140/t, respectively. At the same time, Fitch has lowered its forecast for the price of thermal coal from Australia due to warm weather in Europe, a key consumption region. For 2022, the forecast was reduced from $360/t – to $350/t, for 2023 – from $240/t to $220/t. Analysts expect overall demand for marine thermal coal to remain stable, with supplies from Australia normalizing in 2023. Analysts at the agency slightly raised their forecast for Chinese thermal coal prices in 2022-2023. It reflected higher prices since the start of 2022, greater dependence on the country’s coal-fired power generation in the near term, supply constraints due to Covid-related measures. Indonesian 4,200kcal/kg thermal coal around USD60 (10M2022: USD85 | jailbird
14/12/2022 13:18 | Don't think they would rollover the debt beats the objective of the deleveraging partThe only reason they are operating at all Is cos tangedco are buying from them at a tarriff at where they can still have a slight bit of profitability Coal never went up to $250 highest it went to was $90 dollars | bubbabubbabubba |
