that sounds like pure wishful thinking. the surge was unjustified and was almost certainly a short squeeze. even the volume was low yesterday (0.5% of outstanding shares).

Some stop losses may have been triggered at 900. Once cleared I'm expecting the price to move back up and I will not be surprised to see a full reversal and end up over 1000

no substantive news today, which likely means yesterday's surge was just a short squeeze. The market cap has risen from 3 billion at the June low to 8 billion yesterday. 5 billion increase. If shorts were 10% of the company (never believe the official data) thrn that is a 500m kick in the teeth dmfor shorters.Asos and Boohoo look like the next short squeeze candidates

I’m unclear who is going to sell to cover the shorts 30-50m shares (are these numbers roughly right?) and to allow the FTSE100 trackers back in after they sold a month or two ago at 350p. Could someone please enlighten me? Is there a risk that this gets back to prior highs? Curious, now that its key competitor has been taken out and shot - if I read the announcement correctly. Also curious to hear at what point there is a trend reversal on the charts. Please. Obviously not investment advice but rather some real questions in search of enlightenment.

I agree with you darrin. I'm hoping it's a non grocery deal which would prove the business case works and pave the way for more. These are capital light too. Having the settlement cleared regarding patents puts some money in the bank, even though it isn't enough to satisfy the outstanding bonds.
I'm also encouraged that Tim Steiner deferred his share sales as it means he must be very confident that they're worth more than single £

My bet would be an announcement of a non-food customer. Amazon in the UK? Pure speculation.

no,apart from VMUK which occasionally can have a decent movement and is dual listed as listed in OZ . I prefer to trade it in OZ though as NO stamp duty on any stock there but time difference is a nuisance :) . Thanks for mentioning BARC and will keep eye on it tomorrow for a possible CFD trade .

went into auction a couple of times as is normal after big moves but did not make it pause for breath , Yes , fun day indeed Qantas and good luck as probably more in it. Finished just 10p below high for day which is normally a good sign . I must follow it more closely tomorrow and loom for a CFD or spreadbet trade to avoid SD .

That's the short squeeze happening now. Momentum traders to follow on from this.Fundamentals still poor, but they matter little during a move like this.Cheers,Niels

Never seen this before!! Don't think they went up this much in a day, even in the heady days of £29 plus!! Anything to do with Tim Steiner deferring the sale of large amounts of shares for one year, then a further two years???
