Feel I missed out a bit today. No news on my car yet, one of our tennis team just paid £4k to have his Porsche fixed. Great reason not to be interested in cars.

Snowfall has been brought forward and into normally accurate range for Monday now. Cold is expected to stick around until month end. I'm actually now hoping we get snow and then crisp and sunny northerlies. Two weeks of wet cold does not appeal!

DrB, that last method suits my game! I'll go for anything regardless of if it looks possible to reach or not! My theory is, however bad my shot, if I get it back there is always a chance! Hence my bad back I suppose!

Looking like an alright day for my lot at the moment, but not banking on it just yet.

Hopefully AV will boost most of us today. Think most of us hold it. I’m just about level, up a touch if I exclude the xd’s


Tennis lesson last night. I don’t get behind the ball as often as I should, rarely split step and don’t get my hands ready early enough, move my feet too much when I serve and often don’t get enough height on the throw. I do strike it well though apparently. Lots to think about when I’m playing which will probably make things worse. See ball, hit ball much easier to remember.

Good morning. Sunny and mild after a little overnight rain.

The models are not backing off yet. Cold from Monday to Sunday, with the entire nation under snow on Friday. The start of this is coming into range where one would normally expect it to be something like but still has chance to moderate quite a lot - so probably snow on higher ground and populated areas just get a little sleet. It's fascinating if you like this sort of thing. Temperature forecasts for here are 3C/-2C midweek so we're looking at 4 or 5 days around 6/7C below normal.

I finished down 0.62% - no obvious culprits, but I'm hurtling towards negative YTD territory at this rate!.

I'm down -0.332% on the day today (FTSE100 ++0.057%).

Worst falls: SGRO -2.83%, BA. -2.68% and PHP -2.55%.

Best rises: VOD +3.04% then ADM and AZN, both +1.54%.

Bounce back from yesterday's fall for VOD.

Nice lunch today with our former employees club, I was the only committee member present, so chaired the AGM. 30 there, which is not bad as we have no members coming in at the bottom. Nice fine day. Also a visit to the dentist before lunch.

Down today. I could not understand some of the moves. 0.27% down. Best mover CNC & DEC. fallers = BA. Fallers, nnothing too drastic..but a few of them. Onwards & upwards..

My lot were mixed with some odd late moves but they seem to balance out and leave me broadly unchanged. I'll worry about it tomorrow.

Sunny all day, though tempered with some hazy high cloud. It felt warm in the morning, though, until lunch when a slight breeze appeared. I walked to the next village with the dog I'm sitting. It's having a good sleep now.

Sunday snow has largely backed off now but Tues/Weds still has 4 to 12cm of snow across Scotland and the North with a slight west coast bias. I reckon that will also back off in the next day or two so a week of cold rain beckons. BBC are now forecasting cold enough temperatures for snow next week without mentioning the S-word. I've extended the heating times to winter hours, so thermostats are in charge now. 10.8C after 1.2C for us today.

Another dismal day, -0.4%

Creo/Spec/MTE doing most of the damage. Optimism feels like it’s reached or is a low. My ftse 250 tracker is now in the red, first time for 6 months. Not a huge surprise though as it’s gone nowhere for years. AIM index has underperformed that too

Portfolio +0.43% , mainly down to SMIN +10% (results) , VOD, NICL, AZN and DPLM (broker upgerade) ...losers WTB, SGRO, RS1 and NG.

Talk of next interest rate cut maybe now being put back to May 2025.

Sainsbury's this morning very busy with plenty of offers if you've got your nectar card. Spotted one mask.

More leaf collecting and those tiny silver birch seeds are getting everywhere. Local walk this afternoon and updated the Residents Association noticeboard.

Stir-fry chicken, crunchy veg, noodles and kung pao sauce tonight. Bottle of merlot.

Aleman, the way this lot are acting, I think it will become increasingly attractive to relocate to one of those countries, not just trade with them!
