15/4/2024 19:39 | Skinny, the country is broken and the weather is broken. I was in the garden at 6pm, blue sky overhead, no clouds and light rain, blowing a hooley and a huge rainbow. ----------- Weather damage insurance claims worst on record Property insurers paid out the equivalent of £13 million every day last year to help homeowners and businesses cope with unexpected and unwanted events like flooding and theft, according to figures published today by the Association of British Insurers. | philanderer
15/4/2024 19:21 | I'm down -0.090% on the day today (FTSE100 -0.376%). Worst falls: TATE -2.20%, BP. -2.19% and BT.A -1.96%. Best rises: S32 +2.84%, IMI +1.98% and ADM +1.50%. There seemed to be a lot of late falls today. Oils had a rough day. A couple or so periods of rain today. Very short lived. I had thought about cutting the grass, but it rained. Anyway, I was working my way through over 300 emails which had acumulated since I got the new computer. I got UK Power Networks to remove a fallen branch, which was hanging on one of their wires. 15/4/2024 17:17 | -0.4%. INCH did well on the sale of its UK division. Cold in that blustery wind, despite a fair amount of sunshine. A few light things blown over. 13.4C after 5.2C. The good run since the Bantams threw away promotion hopes, fans protested and they started playing Pointon, continues. 10 points from 12 now - but too late to be of any benefit. Will there be a late surge in season ticket sales to spare the club's blushes or have less convicted fans voted with their feet? Seem to be stuck around 11k. (15k last year.) Finally saw the Doctor after 5 weeks. Most symptoms of abdominal pain and some pretty severe swelling had gone. I nearly went to casualty a couple of times last week. He suggested a bit of old scar tissue giving way and I felt like I was being treated as a bit of a hypochondriac time waster. I looked pregnant a few days ago and was getting out of breath just walking. I hope he's right anyway and it does not recur. I'm frustrated but glad to be feeling a bit better so far this week. I think I need a gentle bike ride in a few days if weather permits. | aleman
