MrPhil - held for many years so have done me well.

The issue is all my investment trusts.

The World Index has gone up so much (big tech) and im underweight it, and overweight UK smaller/mid cap trusts.

FGT also has done nothing for years (biggest IT holding.)

The global trusts also haven't kept pace. Mid Wyn, and Sain.

Market has seen Apple and Telsa have no sales growth now. Need the AI story to finish to start out performing.

A change of Govt in the UK might get the UK moving as well....

Looked in quickly. Nothing happening. Going to sail the car to Dundee to enjoy the cold sideways rain. This break reminds me of the week's holiday we had in Wales once where we lasted 4 days then went home to dry all the clothes. We only have 4 days booked this time, though, so might last! :-)

Edit - DrBio, that's shocking. What was the context?

£25 for MrsBio who has the maximum allocation. Nothing for me. Red start, KITW is dropping from its recent high and hitting the total, although reds are outnumbering the blues again. Only just above the line for the year.

Saw a couple of fights and a stabbing last night - was shocked at how many people were watching and making a song and dance about it. Fortunately no serious injury and I recommend seeing the production of Carmen whilst its touring. The Ukrainian National Opera. There was a rousing performance of their Anthem at the end too.

Sounds good Phil - we're off to Porto Santo early May.

We've had a couple of showers already this morning, making it difficult to decide what to do with young children.

Nothing from ERNIE here either.

Morning All.

Another dark and miserable start to the day and very red for the portfolio with DEC the solitary blue.

Agree regarding yoghurt not being a main but I guess they are thinking there are those that consider a stick of celery a main meal!

+0.3%. FRES +7% or so. Rest mixed.

I'm north of Dundee with the family. Going to spend the day there tomorrow after visiting my mum's care home in Aberdeen today. Weather is terrible. It's rained for 30 hours since we got here and the car read 6C through the day, 5C driving back to our remote "lodge". There are a numerous dangerous puddles on pretty much all the (well-potholed) roads so I've been having to drive well under speed limits. Had I hit the full lane enormous puddle on the A92 in the dark at the Stonehaven valley dip at 60mph or more, our break would probably have been over. Fortunately, there was no traffic and so the next lane was empty. As a bonus the breeze makes the rain feel even colder. Plenty of daffs have not even bloomed here yet. I thought ours were late.

I'm down -0.578% on the day today (FTSE100 -0.220%)

Worst falls: RKT -5.25%, TW. -3.06% and BLND -3.04%.

Best rises: SHEL +3.50%, BP. +2.60% and BHP +2.33%.

A good day for oils and miners, less so for property and builders. RKT feeling poorly.

Added 20% to my holding of WDS this morning.

Transferred my granddaughter's trust fund to her at the end of last week. I want her to transfer some into an ISA before the end of the tax year, but she has just moved into a flat, so may have other priorities.

I have a funeral to attend down in the Forest on Friday. My first girl friend from school days, also a distant cousin. She passed away on her 89th birthday. Hope to see some friends there.

Miserable end to the day in general, -0.1% GSK, TEK & MNG

Quite a bright morning but started drizzling just after lunch and got steadily worse from then on in. The home solar had generated over 5kWh by lunchtime but has ended the day on 6.2 so that says it all. We apparently have lighter evenings to enjoy, but you wouldn't think so. Got up in half light and going home in half light.

Portfolio -0.04% big gains for AAL, SHEL and BP ....everything else more or less red. Bought a few RSW.

Dry and overcast with a breeze 14C. Managed to get the washing done and dried and an hours bush pruning. Tomato seedlings are well through as are the Californian Poppies.

Slow cooker been on all day with cubed beef, carrots, parsnips , swede and onions. Just potatoes and dumplings to add later. Nice bottle of merlot to go with that lot :-)
