3/7, I actually knew two of the answers.

I'm up +0.813% on the day today (FTSE100 +0.906%), up +0.75% on the week (FTSE100 +0.54%) and up +1.31% YTD (FTSE100 +3.35% and HIX +4.16%).

Best rises: BP. +3.67%, SSE +3.64% and TW. +3.34%.

Worst falls: IMI -1.12%, BLND -0.99% and TATE -0.78%.

That rumour about BP seems to have done something. Property a bit sickly.

SMDS went through my weight limit last night so I sold 25% this morning. Topped up PHP, RKT and WDS. RKT is a bit of a punt, hoping it may recover.

Printer now working. Piles of filing to do. Rugby at 8pm. Come on Gloucester.

Have a good weekend

Cracking week for me despite a couple of significant ex-dividends. FRES up strongly again today - arguably not keeping up with PM prices but they are full of traders and prone to sharp reversals so might well not stick. +1.1% today. YTD -2.8%. (Sorry, Skinny!)

Similar to yesterday. High cloud prevented much direct sunlight but still warm. Managed to dry another load of washing despite not feeling great. A modest shopping trip to SBRY saw another couple of small price rises and lots of "more mature" customers impeding progress. At least they have more time so are friendlier. 20.1C after 11.0C.

Have a good weekend.

Portfolio +0.47% , five good gainers AAL, BP, SHEL, RIO and NG. and that was about it. UK based shares all red. I see the FTSE250 is unchanged for the year.

+0.95% for the week, making -1.37% YTD

Lovely t-shirt and shorts day , plenty of sunshine 19C. Spent most of the day giving an early trim to the hedges.

All the food donations on the village bench gone by the time I walked past late this afternoon :-)

Lasagne , salad and a bottle of merlot tonight.

QPR at Hull tomorrow plus The Masters golf. We're out to lunch in Ealing then on to an amateur musical which is being directed by a friend of my wife. Hike on sunday.

Good weekend everyone.

Early reporting for once!

RIO BP & SHEL all powering ahead.

Rumours of BP being bought by arabs, SHEL moving to list in the USA.
While we are at it, RIO should move and list solely in Australia.

Excellent week, folio was up 2.3%

YTD now -1.60%

Enjoy your weekends :)

Thats a very mixed day - FTSE100 +0.9%, FTSE250 -0.25%

Also a mixed day for my lot. API/CREO cost me -0.1%, offset by gains at NG/ULTP/LUCE to leave me just up on the day.

Positive week, though I'm sure others have done much better, YTD +1.1%

Think I'm owed about 0.8% in dividends that I'll add at the end of the month.

What have I kept saying since Christmas? Good quality, cheaper cafes have been busy but expensive or mediocre ones have been dead at times.

Half of consumers have cut back on their non-essential spending so far this year, with eating out the most likely thing to be cut from budgets, a survey this morning shows.

Just 3% of consumers say that they have been able to spend more on non-essentials in the first quarter, with 52% cutting back, according to the KPMG Consumer Pulse survey.

Eating out was the most common discretionary spending cut, listed by 72% of those who are scaling back, followed by clothing purchases (62%) and takeaways (58%).

And they think we're pulling out of recession?

I'm back on line with a reconditioned W11 desktop. A Dell Optiflex 3060. Printer not functioning as yet, but I can print to PDF.

I think that I last reported on Monday, before catastrophe struck.

Tuesday I was down-0.219%, Wednesday down -0.023% and today -0.321% (FTSE100 -0.470%).

Worst falls: AV. -6.35% XD, TSCO -5.05% and LLOY -4.63% XD.

Best rises: KGF +2.44%, AZN +2.14% and WDS +1.94%.

Tesco is a bit of a mystery, but no doubt I shall find the reason tomorrow.

Glad to be back.

-0.2% for me. AV biggest loser, cost me -0.5% on its own, my other financials Barc/Lio/MNG also down heavily. ULTP biggest riser. Discounting the xd's I'd have been up 0.2% so not a bad day I suppose.
