wllm, the lowest generation we have had from our new work 28.8kW system over the past couple of weeks has been about 50 kWh. It's grey and cloudy at the moment but it's still generating at a rate of 3.45kW as I type and has managed 25kWh so far this morning. You're right about the export delay, we are still waiting for Eon to get us onto the Export Guarantee having applied weeks ago. All very frustrating as we will have exported over 400kWh over the long weekend! We did fill the wife's car up yesterday completely free so that's something!

phil, cheeky red kites! Saw our first one over our garden last week, we regularly see them over our woods in North Hampshire but they've only recently made it to the coast. I must remember to watch out when we have a picnic!

This looks interesting, although it seems pretty similar to the d2w stuff that SYM were promoting back in 2012?

Morning everyone.

Big rain through the night again by the look of the wet ground.

MrP , yes lots of red kites, but we get plenty at home here in South Bucks. They're known to swoop down onto the school playgrounds and take the children's sandwiches :-O

I hope so MrP, really cloudy and grey today so not the best weather for solar. Unfortunately, the installer reckons we have a faulty inverter as I cannot connect to the app to see what we are generating. Going by the smart meter I reckon we will cut our dual fuel bill by at least 50%. We also have to wait on an MPAN number before we can export to the grid, apparently there is a 3 month backlog.

Morning All.

We were treated to some pretty decent weather over the long weekend, albeit Sunday ended with an almighty storm which lit the entire sky. It upset our external alarm sounder so I was at the top of a ladder in the torrential rain trying to shut it up!

Skinny, why can't we plan ahead anymore? All this valuable water just going to waste!

wllm, thanks for updating the chart and I am envious of your solar system! Being an older system we have just 2.35kW at home which on a good day in the summer will generate around 15kWh so I reckon you could see around 45kWh

phil, did you get to see a few Red Kites?

Another day, another loss. Fortunately I was away up North and missed watching it. Six managers in eighteen months all preaching a different type of soccer, no wonder the players look confused and some now disinterested.
Fortunately tonight's potential shambles against Stoke isn't on Ifollow so another decent nights sleep for me.

Oh, and having seen none of the usual traffic jams since Covid barring a few modest accidents and roadworks ones, there was a 30 mile tailback of crawling traffic from NE York to SE Leeds (no exaggeration!) as I went to football on A64,A1 and M1. It was the longest one I've EVER seen. I'm so glad I was going the other way!

Good Morning.

Thanks wllm.

I've rashly agreed to pick our friends up from Gatwick this afternoon.

They've sold up in Spain and are moving to Australia (she's is Australian).

Enjoy the dry day!!

Watford got a decent 2-2 draw against previous leaders Leeds. I watched it on Sky (I only get to see 3 or games in person). First half was the best for some while. We have nothing to play for, we probably have enough points to stay up but we are too far from the playoffs. 6 games for Cleverley to get the job.

There was a fans protest outside the ground at 2pm with about 400+. It was headed off a bit by some announced changes by the club a couple of days ago. There was still almost half the crowd missing and that is the bigger message. Interestingly, the protest also seems to have resulted in Pointon starting. He had a great game that encouraged a lot of fluid attacking play. There was a so close moment when he hit the post and then the ground erupted when he scored a screamer. This lad has potential and plenty of scouts had a look while he was playing then he disappeared. He WILL play higher. It's criminal that he has not been getting played even though sitting on the bench a lot recently to try calm growing fan unrest about why he has been sidelined (like too many other young players in recent years). For once, I enjoyed the game but not playing him - as well as whatever else is going on behind the scenes that is making everyone unhappy - has likely cost us a play-off spot. A few fans are saying the club actually do not want to get promoted to a more expensive division because the chairman does not want to lose money but keep the club ticking over at breakeven in the hope that cup or transfer windfalls will provide dividends. It would explain a lot - but it does not seem to be working because season ticket sales seem to be off to a poor start. Were they expecting any different?

Thanks, wllm.

A follow up my post 86672 of 86682, figures from my s/sheet are in alignment. YTD quoted is correct.

carpingtris : well done for staying there.

wllm : thanks for the standings.

Notts County (magpies) I knew they were 2-0 down at Swindon during the day.
Hadn't realised it was such calamity defending until I watched the EFL highlights and not the first time we have given goals away like this. It's not worked out with Maynard lost 7 out of last 9 games. 5 in a row defeats at home, I have not been attending.

MrP, it's an 18 panel, 7.4kw system with a Solis Inverter and x2 Puredrive 5kw batteries. It will be interesting to see how much we generate and can send back to the grid. It's been a terrible Winter weather wise so hopefully a nice Summer beckons.

Flat on the week overall with a small +0.02% rise on the week taking me to -2.28% YTD. Best riser was PHNX +4.52% and the worst faller was AEWU -3.94%. Off to Edinburgh tomorrow for a family meal, hopefully tennis Sunday, weather looks promising for a change.

Have a nice weekend all,

I'm up +0.364% on the day today (FTSE100 +0.260%), up +1.33% on the week (FTSE100 +0.27%) and up +2.00% YTD (FTSE100 +2.84% and HIX +1.51%).

Best rises: S32 +1.71%, RKT +1.67% and VOD +1.50%.

Worst falls: TW. -2.28% XD, UU. -1.58% and PHP -1.32%.

Presumably UU. affected by Thames Water's problems. RKT has formed a double bottom. Is that a good sign for rfecovery.

Just back from curry at Wetherspoons. Keep dry over the holiday.

Down -1.02% this week thanks to DLG, but I was expecting it and tbh it could have been worse.

Added some more IPU today and Divi received today from ETF MIDD (FTSE 250 tracker).

YTD is now +2.58%

Good long weekend all!

Faded to +0.2%. DEC strong again. YTD up to -5.3% despite ITs simply not following NAVs up such that discounts expanded significantly.

Further gold highs £1760/$2222/Euro2058 this afternoon.

Been out to meet some of Mrs A's family for a walk and coffee just as sun went in. Raining when we came back out. Never warm in that wind which is now getting blustery. 12.0C after 3.4C.

A supporters group protest ahead of tomorrow's game has drawn a letter from the chairman which says nothing more specific than vague excuses and palliatives that we've heard before. A new smallish online poll so far says over 90% do not have faith in his CEO. I'm of the opinion that you can't just buy a community asset and then largely ignore it as you sit back and ask for a higher resale price than paid, while the spinmeister you appointed to run it in your stead seems to be making himself more and more unpopular with the fans as he tries to rinse them as the product stagnates after a series of very questionable and inconsistent footballing decisions. The mismanaged switchover to Ticketmaster, just as many seem to be boycotting a 25% season ticket price rise during a poor season, seems to be appropriately badly timed.

Have a good Easter break. I think the forecast might be described as chilly and changeable enough to make local predictions difficult. Somebody might get lucky and see some sun but I shall not be getting my hopes up and sticking to 4 layers and gloves. Never cast a clout til May be out.

Portfolio +0.43% .. top gainers AAL, HILS, VOD, WTB and SGRO......main fallers ABF and SMIN.

+1.21% for the week , making -0.87% YTD

Heavy rain and strong winds for most of the day. Dry interlude for a while this afternoon and managed a swift local walk . Nobody about.

Spaghetti and meatballs for dinner with a bottle of red.

Off to Oxfordshire tomorrow for a few days walking and birdwatching. Weather doesn't look too bad.

Good long weekend everyone, and a Happy Easter.
