25/3/2024 17:10 | Looks like my lot bucked the trend then, albeit only just at +0.04% thanks to BP., IPF & TEK A good business colleague of mine popped in earlier to discuss a new project where we are converting some old fittings to LED. Having bought himself a rather nice Jag F-Type about a year ago, he has now been tempted to trade it in for one of the very last ones built and very nice it looks too! | mrphil
25/3/2024 17:01 | I finished down 0.35% - SERE -3.12%, SHED -1.36% and CPI not helping. | skinny
25/3/2024 16:48 | Down 0.01% no big risers or fallers, | malcolm caton
25/3/2024 16:39 | Down 0.4% more reds than blues. VLX biggest faller, not a lot up | dr biotech
25/3/2024 13:59 | Afternoon everyone. Internet problems all day. Early drizzle has stopped. Dry and breezy now. Portfolio not looking good, | philanderer
25/3/2024 11:41 | I really do think solar panels + battery storage are a no brainer in most situations. People seem happy to pay out hundreds of pounds per month on a new car which will be worth nothing in a few years, yet won't invest in something like solar which will effectively make them far better off in a few years time. It's not as if people are moving every couple of years these days. | mrphil
25/3/2024 09:53 | Good Morning. A grey start, but at least that biting wind has gone for now - plenty of under dressed mum's complaining at the football yesterday. I know our Seasons are not quite as they were, but the idiom March "comes in like a lion goes out like a lamb" sprung to mind. | skinny
25/3/2024 08:57 | Just had an email that I won on the Lottery Euromillions on Friday, something I rarely get involved with. Matched two tickets and won £2.30 which is less than the price of the ticket! How can a win not even cover the cost of a ticket? | mrphil
25/3/2024 00:02 | Fed’s Bostic Now Anticipates Just One Rate Cut This Year Atlanta Fed chief now sees one, not two rate cuts for 2024 Said it’s a ‘close call,’ less confident about inflation path (Bloomberg) | philanderer
24/3/2024 10:25 | Thanks wllm. Just holding on to my position. Some cricket starts this week against Cardiff UCE at Trent Bridge, with the full County championship commencing next week. The weather will have to buck up, otherwise its thermals. | blueliner
24/3/2024 07:24 | Thanks for update wllm. I need some of my small caps to head north rather than south to move me up the table. | malcolm caton
23/3/2024 19:45 | Lovely sunny morning. Went for a dog walk with a friend in the afternoon and it turned pigging cold and grey. Glad we had a nice stew to go home to. Harrogate have lost 10 home games this season so we lost 3-0 to them with another odd team selection where the players did not bother to show up. We have two fit centre backs yet played just one centre back in a back three again but the alternative fit one from the previous game. Why not play 4-4-2 with both centre backs!? It's lunacy that has now seen 13 goals conceded in 4 games after we previously only 1 conceded in six games. The manager must be trying to get himself sacked. The new independent Supporters Group are organising a first mass protest against the owner at the next home game on Friday. I expect a big turnout. | aleman
23/3/2024 18:18 | Thanks wllm. We've had a couple of quite heavy hail showers this afternoon and the wind is quite spiteful. Cuttings largely done and kitchen cleaned :-) | skinny
23/3/2024 18:12 | Thanks wllm! Depending on DLG next week I may not keep that top spot?? | carpingtris

23/3/2024 11:09 | Miners and Oil did well.Renewables as usual were poor.Up about 1.2% on the week. YTD now -4.1%Enjoy your weekends | gateside
22/3/2024 23:37 | Been to the cinema, to see Dune 2. I'll update my portfolio in the morning. | gateside
22/3/2024 21:42 | It remains really cold up here, temperature struggled to 6c, biting cold wind and intermittent heavy showers. Can't wait for warmer weather. I was heading to a low for 2024 by close of business on Tuesday but a market rally the last few days and particularly today saw me gain on the week, my second largest investment, PHNX, doing the heavy lifting. Best Riser: PHNX +8.57% Worst Faller: CLI -4.43% xd On the week: +1.42% YTD: -2.30% Off to a chess congress this weekend, take care all, wllm :) | wllmherk
22/3/2024 20:53 | +0.3%. Small PHNX holding helped. An initial purchase of AEI on an 8.3% yield takes my trust holdings to 50% and makes up for some of the dividend cut at DEC. Just need some of those trust discounts to shrink now! DEC spoiled what could have been a good week. YTD same at -5.8%. Mostly sun all day but a very chilly wind for the time of year. The garden mostly blocked it out so reached 12.4C after 5.6C. It's already lower now so could be frost tomorrow which should be similar with odd cold showers. Sunday looks set to be a little more pleasant. Have a good weekend, all. | aleman
22/3/2024 18:25 | +0.27% folio, [FTSE All-Share +0.51%] PHNX +9%, about time too for my largest folio investment. (still underwater) On the week : +1.16% Shares of the week : BA., BHP, Faller of the week : GSF No getting away from it renewable facing stocks are like a ball & chain on the folio at present. Folio YTD -2.24% 11C from 3C, plenty of strong sunshine, should make the solar farms round here happy. | blueliner |
