27/3/2024 09:55 | Good Morning, I thought I'd posted earlier. Off for a temporary crown shortly and then to my son's to wait for a mattress that has a 4 hour delivery window!! | skinny
27/3/2024 09:54 | Good morning. No sun but drying out a bit after a damp night. Gold £1738/$2195. It keeps edging up in most currencies despite central bankers talking interest rates up. What does it mean? There seems to be very strong Asian buying as some economies there recover quite strongly and wealth increases. | aleman
27/3/2024 08:58 | Morning All. It's actually been bright and sunny so far this morning but the forecast is awful so I'm guessing it won't last! Looks like my spell into positive territory was short lived. | mrphil
27/3/2024 07:54 | Morning. Rain overnight with more showers forecast, when will dry weather happen? One of my AIM shares C4XD has notified intention to delist,(only a small holding)will wait and see the reaction | malcolm caton
26/3/2024 19:13 | +0.2%. Trusts refusing to rise with improving NAVs again but I don't mind if they all produce higher dividends in time. A pleasant watery sunshine morning but a very cold afternoon again in the northerly. We went to Yorkshire Lavender a little before their season at a reduced price, where the frogspawn was hatching out, and we had excellent pizzas for dinner at a specialist pub in Malton. I might regret not cutting the grass, though, with drizzle expected all night. 10.5C after 4.2C, but a chilly 7-8C after lunch as it clouded a bit. Everywhere we went was unusually quiet again so it's not just the Lakes. The pizza pub had 4 bar staff serving just two or three tables in the time we were there. Where is everybody? As an investor, it's making me nervous. | aleman
26/3/2024 18:03 | I'm up +0.150% on the day today (FTSE100 +0.169%). Best rises: KGF +4.26%, SMDS +2.51% and RKT +1.30%. Worst falls: S32 -1.97%, RIO -1.89% and BHP -1.35%. The miners let me down today. KGF continues its rise, RKT in Tart's Drawers mode. Been to Tonbridge for lunch today. Rain just starting as we left for home, very heavy on the M23. 26/3/2024 17:41 | Well done Malcolm! I finished up 0.11%. MrP - I meant to comment on your friends F-Type - a lovely car, but it would be totally impractical around here - it would either get get beached on the huge speed cushions or the deep potholes. The rain duly arrived early afternoon. | skinny
26/3/2024 17:37 | Thanks guys, zoo is my 3rd largest holding by nunber of shares, still not in profit on all my purchases but not so deep under water as I was! | malcolm caton

Stayed dry until 3pm allowing me to finish cutting up the tree prunings and forming the woodpile for creepie crawlies and small mammals . Just about got the washing up to date and almost dried . Not cold 13C Slow cooker has been on all day, cubed irish beef, carrots, parsnips, swede and onions. Dumplings to add for the last hour and spuds to cook. Nice big glass of red :-) England need to perform tonight. Luck to the Welsh. | philanderer
26/3/2024 17:10 | Well done malcolm, ZOO, that's a name from the past. I sold my last ones back in 2019 at 56p having paid 42p back in 2017. | mrphil

26/3/2024 15:02 | phil, lovely area. We spent a couple of days doing a driving route through the Chilterns starting at Wallingford and ending at Dunstable and it was a really lovely drive taking in some stunning villages. I don't think there was a moment when we didn't have at least one Red Kite flying above us all the time we were in The Chilterns! | mrphil
26/3/2024 10:44 | Morning everyone. Just hung the washing out as the sun was shining only to be informed there's ten hours rain arriving at 1pm. Good response for a change to results from BAG and SMIN. We've booked up a couple of days in Oxfordshire for the weekend near three Nature Reserves. Walking and bird watching on the menu. Never been to the lakes. | philanderer
26/3/2024 10:21 | It does look a bit chilly I must admit! I see CLIG dividend gets paid out this week so I suppose at least they will get reinvested at a lower price meaning more shares! | mrphil
26/3/2024 10:00 | I don't know, MrP. It as very cold. (Mrs A enjoyed the new car's heated seat.) Our good times were indoors. The plentiful availability was good for us but probably bad for business. We still enjoyed the moody scenery and the boys counted waterfalls falling from the hills. Here's what happened to the cold rain we drove through coming back. Looks like next week could be even colder in the North. How does the weather know when everyone is on holiday? | aleman
26/3/2024 09:41 | malcolm, shocking to see that, he wasn't even close to missing it! Hope everyone is OK. Bit too much red for my liking today. | mrphil
26/3/2024 09:20 | Morning. chilly but bright morning, Portfolio shares mainly red but thanks to ZOO total positive ,Now need CPI to do similar. How does a container ship crash into a bridge? dont they have local pilots to navigate? | malcolm caton
26/3/2024 08:54 | Morning All. Aleman, you are making me envious as we haven't been to The Lakes for a couple of years and I miss it! Just saw a video clip from Daily Mail with the title "Moment electric Jaguar goes 'rogue' and smashes three high-end cars" and I really don't know whether to laugh or cry at their total stupidity! The clip clearly shows a Jaguar E-Pace petrol model and if there was any doubt they only had to do a car tax check on it. Bit like the car fires that get reported as EV's and turn out to be diesel or petrol cars, like the Luton airport fire. | mrphil
26/3/2024 08:52 | Good Morning. A sunny start @10C, but rain set follow. | skinny
25/3/2024 21:29 | Going away briefly does not seem to have helped my losing trend. It seems to be IT discounts at it again. When will they stop expanding? -0.4%. Been to show the boys the Lakes and meet my sister and b-i-l who are down there from Aberdeen for a week. We stopped just one night in Kendal. It was cold and sunny yesterday, very cold and oppressive cloud today. (Only 6C driving into Keswick at lunch.) I could not believe how quiet it was - roads, cafes, pubs, restaurants, town centres, everything. I've never been to the Lakes when it's not been very busy, even when wet, but their schools do not break up until Friday so maybe locals are still saving for holidays and the real tourist season has not started yet. It made it easy for us to get tables for 7 everywhere and we enjoyed ourselves. The journey home across A66 this evening gave us a free, cold car wash, too! (100 miles further north - Perth/Dundee - was heavy snow according to radar, in line with a yellow weather warning.) | aleman
25/3/2024 19:26 | I'm up +0.108% on the day today (FTSE100 -0.168%) Best rises: KGF +2.57%, BP. +1.41% and WDS +1.04%. Worst falls: RKT -2.50%, IGG -1.30% and TW. -0.89%. After falling initially on the full year results, Kingfisher perked up a bit. Oils had a good day. Reckitt losing a bit more. Apart from half a dozen drops at breakfast time it stayed dry all day. DF | deanforester
25/3/2024 17:55 | Up 0.1% today Cold and damp here After a mild February, it has been a chilly March | gateside |
