HNY everyone.

Looking forward to Midnight and Kenneth McKeller singing "Genie from the Glen" and a repeat of Nicola Sturgeon,s best wishes to all English men 2016,2017 and 2018.

Oh, I do warm to that "Wee Lassie" and the SNP.

My broker is still selling the idea "Real Companies that produce things and make real profits 2019"

So MRO should be in the frame with others , not sure about "Cobham" but will hold RR and MGGT. My MKS is not looking good despite my wife,s spending over Christmas.

I posted the picture of our Christmas lunch purely to please Meanwhile in all of his aliases. He comments so often on my gastronomic delights that I felt it only right to illustrate my exceptional cooking. Not boasting of course!!!

For Christmas I received James Martin’s French Adventure which contains many of my French favourites. I may be tempted to post pictures as I cook them, just for MW you understand. Life must be tough in Snoredonia, so a little light relief is, I feel, in keeping. It must be so depressing just looking at the photo of his wallet and it’s diminishing contents.

So glad you all like our Christmas table runner. They are a family tradition going back over 35 years.

Although we don’t have any outside lights, we do enjoy indoor decorations. Some of my glass baubles are over 50 years old.

Somebody accused me of being another poster not so long ago grs. Can't be bothered to remember who it was or why. As you know, I have not been here for long. That's me done. Runners are still naff though.

Keyno, I'm not sure why you are posting to an imaginary person? Ryelodge is Meanwhile. Meanwhile created Ryelodge at a time of personal crisis, namely when he was getting some home truths from Yertiz, and felt he needed some support from another poster that had some credibility. He created the sinister character 'hvs' at the same sort of time, quite an intriguing character who posts mostly about Indian toilets and people on benefits. Anyway, back on the important topic of runners v placemats, I believe runners went out of fashion in the mid 1990s but have now staged a remarkable comeback and can be seen in trendy restaurants in places like Shoreditch, Hackney and Brighton. John Lewis recently announced they are one of their 'hot' items for 2019, which suggests their resurgence is about to go mainstream. Great day on the markets today. I'm hoping for more of the same in 2019 with steady rises from MRO and more volatility for PLUS.

The bare table; the plain cutlery, the floral placemat and the portion controlled turkey -- That's Bill's in Cheltenham.

Looks very tasty and well presented. The forks are a Sheffield Parish pattern
"Georgian Bead" if I remember correctly.

Following the article on Baba Vanga's predictions for 2019, I am keen to learn of the 2019 predictions of our resident mystic, known as "The Cotswold (£3 by Christmas, roast beef for dinner) Sage".

I hope some of these predictions relate to Melrose & the stock market, rather than how many pounds of roast beef he will eat at a single sitting, how much wine he's going to drink with it and what wonderful act his nephew has planned for 2019.
But I'm sure that's what we'll get.

Morning getting.

Just opened the last of our Christmas presents. Have been too busy to open them all before. Last of the family gatherings today. The whole family, every one. Lots to eat, drink and celebrate. Then slowing down until Twelth Night. But still lots on. Fun, fun, fun all the way!!!

Enjoy Tenerife. sounds great.

Perhaps we should have a “best Christmas present” competition.

Morning all, just arrived in Tenerife for a post-Xmas few days of sun, walking, wine and tapas. Nice rise for MRO this morning, up about 5% so far, will be interesting to see if this holds rather than fading away later. Great update again from PLUS yesterday too, the VIX is so high and has been for so long, their results are surely going to be impressive again. Could be a 15% yield on them!! Hope so, given what a fan-boy I am!

Thanks meanwhile. I'm just cooking a rabbit stew and drinking a 2015 Fitou for those who are interested. In order to broaden discussion - and partly introduce myself - there's 30 cm of snow on the ground and no more forecast for the next few days, but it's sunny, so the holiday-makers will be happy. I live in a major ski-resort in the Northern French Alps.

Do you recall when there was last any significant discussion of MRO ?
