10/7/2019 17:40 | There is no such thing as no deal. I as an MEP voted on 17 big EU measures that would become mini deals if the U.K. reciprocates eg a visa waiver scheme. If the U.K. & EU agree to these then you have agreements. It’s not no deal it’s no withdrawal agreement. #Bannerman MEP | crossing_the_rubicon
10/7/2019 17:15 | She's basically wearing slack pyjama pants and a bra! The bra is a problem. Smart discreet blouse on top and she'd have been fine. Pretty inconsiderate to travel so frankly but I've seen worse. | crossing_the_rubicon
10/7/2019 17:14 | Boris doesn't comment on anything. All waffle and BS and never anything specific. Complete cuckoo. | minerve 2
10/7/2019 16:58 | "Boris is bluffing" No, unfortunately he is not, he is a Dad's Army nutter, like his followers. | minerve 2
10/7/2019 16:43 | I still think Boris is bluffing about no deal and withholding cash. He is playing his hand very well. He may have convinced the new EU. team that he really means it, which he thinks will help then concede some issues. I am still hoping that this endless farce will end with a sensible deal. The EU. would want that also. Trying to think what the main problems with Mays deal were that could be changed. | careful

10/7/2019 16:35 | Closing down parliament is a much more serious matter than the legalities of the Maastricht treaty. Although Major called an early election to prevent a corruption report on cash for questions being published. | careful
10/7/2019 16:33 | Germany don't want the Uk to leave for more than one reason, one of them is that Germany and the UK often vote together to prevent Spain France and Italy ganging up and pressing ahed with their plans. 10/7/2019 16:27 | Boris must have a plan. Many are beginning to think he will try ' accept my offer or I will call a general election.' Poker at the highest level. The threat of a general election will concentrate minds. Many MP's will fear losing their seats. | careful
10/7/2019 15:33 | Germany and the UK are the main contributors to the EU budget. And we do huge trade between our countries. Brexit will weaken the EU. and Germany, but mostly the uk. Anyone with half a brain understands that this Brexit thing is a mistake. | careful

10/7/2019 15:12 | European Commission president-in-waiting warns Britain over 'tone and attitude' of Brexit James Crisp, brussels correspondent 10 JULY 2019 • 2:34PM Ursula von der Leyen, the woman nominated as the new president of the European Commission, has warned the next prime minister of Britain over the “tone and attitude” of Brexit. Mrs von der Leyen said that a courteous Brexit was vital because it would set the template for the future UK-EU relationship in what will be widely interpreted as a swipe at Brexiteers such as Boris Johnson, the favourite to succeed Theresa May. In her first public words on Brexit since her nomination by EU leaders after a July 2 summit, she said, “We all know that we want you to Remain but I know how facts are. “I hope for a good development. But in case we’re going to have a Brexit, I’m convinced it is crucial how... More if you sign up: | maxk

10/7/2019 14:44 | In a statement, shadow foreign secretary Emily Thornberry reacts to Sir Kim Darroch's resignation. "The fact that Sir Kim has been bullied out of his job, because of Donald Trump's tantrums and Boris Johnson's pathetic lick-spittle response, is something that shames our country," she says. Ms Thornberry says the situation has "made a laughing-stock of our government" and "tells every one of Britain's brilliant representatives abroad that the next Tory prime minister will not stand up for them, even when they are simply telling the truth and doing their job". She says Sir Kim "should hold his head high for the wonderful job he has done". I am no fan of Thornberry but she is right on this issue. | minerve 2
10/7/2019 14:41 | If POTUS is inept, he is inept. The truth needs to be communicated. No point sugar-coating it. Sensible people already know this but..... | minerve 2
10/7/2019 14:34 | Brexit was always more about selling out to the USA than leaving the EU. Farage and Johnson are in Trumps pocket. this latest incident may help tone down his subservience. The Ambassador must have known his childish comments about Trump would be leaked. Many have told us the inside of the Trump administration, including those sacked, so his information was useless. What an amateur diplomat his is, and we used to think these people were capable. | careful |
