The science is debatable. The politics is imperative.

I'm sorry Minerve but the reason for the GHG story is the economic and political imperative for reducing dependency on depleting fossil fuel and the leverage it gives to unsavoury regimes. It also would butter no parsnips to call time on all those human activities which are the real root of the problem. Those at the top of the scientific tree - not the stooges who produce reports which governments want - must know the reality. First division physicists do not appear in the ranks of the disseminators of the GHG fairy tale. The Government's Chief Scientist does of course.

Patient

The change, as far as humanity is concerned, is not self-limiting. If methane from the ocean floors releases that's it. Game over.

It's all relative in time. The problem is rather like a virus which, as everyone ought to know, is ultimately self limiting. The only variable is how severe and for how long any change might last. But, unless the Indias and Chinas match us unit for unit, taking a moral lead will actually achieve very little in absolute terms. Our emissions are almost irrelevant in a global context.Separately, I'm looking forward to the snap election in due course. This EU caper as gone on long enough.

How to get a consensus view:

1. Take 100 people
2. Ask them a question
3. Exclude all those who failed to give the answer you wanted
4. Present the result only of those not excluded
5. Bingo! 100% consensus
6. Adjust it to 97% to make it look less obviously phoney

Two things:

1st point: I don't believe it is propaganda, I believe the science to be correct.
2nd point: If you can't get humans to change on the threat of extinction you are hardly going to get change on lesser issues.

Again, intelligence wins....

The result is we have destroyed less of the Amazon, we drive cleaner cars, we pollute less generally, we breath fresher air and we kill less animals and we make better use of our resources.

All good things - and not one of them needs to be predicated on fraudulent propaganda.

Next time you pay for something with your bank card :

Plastic is not needed today

The world managed without it for thousands of years

It is polluting the planet and killing wildlife as well as humans

The average WEEKLY consumption of an adult is now equivalent to eating a credit card

Hope so, Brexit will complete by year end and PPI will also complete by year end. 50p for an income investor would be very nice. Britain will boom, a world recession not with standing.

Unless you work for Channel 4 news..one month per year for their relocation redundancy package. Apparently not many of their staff fancy living in Leeds with the plebs and 80% will take the redundancy.

Anyone know what statutory redundancy is at the moment.I have a friend who is in danger of being made redundant. I know that some time ago it was 1 week per year of service plus a week and a half for longer service. He is telling me now though that there is a maximum payout of only £15,750.

Market weakness and 50p IMO gets a test

Aceuk, asking that question is as pointless as a Roman Catholic asking a similar question of a Protestant.

Global warming is a religion. Thou shalt have no other gods but the global warming god.

Minerve 2 why is the science you read (and follow) correct whereas the science I read is incorrect?
