11/6/2019 16:42 | Why is energy so expensive in UK 1) Green tax levied 2) Not enough generation capacity to meet needs of a rapidly expanding populace. Rising populace = rising demand = shortages unless price rises. 3) Rising costs of underlying inputs What happened? Prices have risen substantially. Anyone using Shell Energy? Do they do a shareholder discount for substantial PI holders. Given we import plenty why aren't we making use of our own resources? Just how much of an impact is energy companies being foreign owned(UK consumers subsidising German customers for example - Eon/NPower) a valid reason as well??? | crossing_the_rubicon

11/6/2019 16:04 | gyges Posted June 11, 2019 at 7:34 am | Permalink Why do you think energy is so expensive in this country? (Please save the answer for a separate post …) Reply Fedupsoutherner Posted June 11, 2019 at 8:02 am | Permalink Gyges, its pretty obvious if you listen to those real experts who know about energy and not some idiot of an mp with a degree in geography or politics. Expensive energy was foretold years ago when the green scam brigade took over making decisions for government and silly 16 year olds. 11/6/2019 15:30 | Yes, I think we had it about right in 1948. | grahamite2
11/6/2019 15:21 | Just go in person, and show a smug smile to the chimp who voted Brexit (Brexit Party) with the look on your face that says "I'm just going to nullify your vote chimp, what do you think about that?". LOL | minerve 2
11/6/2019 15:10 | There was no postal voting at all until 1918, when it was introduced for servicemen serving abroad only. In 1948 it was extended to include those with physical incapacity, and in 1985 provisions were made for holidaymakers and others who would not be at home on the day. From 2001 it was allowed on demand. | grahamite2

11/6/2019 14:53 | Vote early, vote often..or get "uncle" to do it for you. | maxk
11/6/2019 14:51 | That's just a strange coincidence......... (I'm here all week). | ladeside
11/6/2019 14:51 | I agree strongly there are major issues with postal voting. I have always believed Labour knew and intended that fraud would be the result when postal voting was expanded. It speaks volumes that in the first 20 cases of electoral fraud that got to court after the new postal voting system, one favoured the LibDems. All the others - ALL of them - favoured Labour. You can't tell me that's just a strange coincidence. | grahamite2
11/6/2019 14:45 | @Graham, Stupid thing to claim. Onus now on him to prove he didnt burn them. Personally the Postal Vote was where the real fraud took place imo. | crossing_the_rubicon
11/6/2019 14:40 | Crossing, I'm on your side as you know. But the ballot paper burning allegation is just a social media post, the sort of thing anyone could do in seconds. And it is being investigated by the police. It doesn't merit comment really. | grahamite2
11/6/2019 14:37 | Strangely all the usual suspects are quiet about a Labour member burning Brexit party ballot papers. Funny that. Remainers all the same. Anti Democratic, fraudulent, dishonourable, and deserving of the whirlwind that will engulf them ALL soon. | crossing_the_rubicon
11/6/2019 14:31 | In case anyone's interested, Boris is shortening by the hour and is now widely available at 1/2 with only 4/7 in places. We then have his main opponent in Hunt who's currently trading at around 4/1 with Loathsome next best at 9/1 and then 16/1 bar. 2 horse race according to the bookies............. | ladeside
11/6/2019 14:29 | Good news! No more of the WBecki school evaluations. Lol | alphorn
11/6/2019 14:20 | Remember all those Remain shrieks about the Northern Ireland border being unsolvable whilst Leavers have been adamant that it has been a confected issue to keep us in the EU. Well, well, well....Looms like Remainers caught lying yet again!!! Irish border issue shown to be hollow and empty............ “Brussels draw plan for Irish border technology despite rubbishing Brexiteer’s same idea” Current technology and administrative procedures can deliver a seamless border and I’m glad finally we agree Has EU found the answer to the Irish backstop? Brussels is preparing to deploy technology to keep trade flowing with Ireland in the event of a No Deal Brexit | crossing_the_rubicon
11/6/2019 14:16 | Oh look, electoral fraud committed in Peterborough by-election. 1000+ Brexit party ballot papers burned. Labour win by small 687 votes odd. So far worse than the Postal Vote fraud we were led to believe. Police Investigating Mystery Man Who Claims He ‘BURNED’ Brexit Party Votes" Should be a capital offence to destroy ballot papers so | crossing_the_rubicon
11/6/2019 14:08 | they have lost the will to live!!!... I have been canvassing some of my younger relatives, all late twenties to late 30"s. all say , "just do something' ...they have lost the will to live and don't really care if its stay or leave or half leave... | diku
11/6/2019 14:07 | h - you may be right. I would not discount the EU taking that line. | alphorn
11/6/2019 14:04 | the EU might be done caring, they might have figured out that they don't want/need the money. Old macron is pushing the harder line and it seems a few more are coming on board with that... They might say you can only revoke if.....what ever more demands they might want to put in. the whole thing is a mess... I have been canvassing some of my younger relatives, all late twenties to late 30"s. all say , "just do something' ...they have lost the will to live and don't really care if its stay or leave or half leave...
