13/6/2019 14:14 | What a numpty jacko is , clearly has no brain as he can't think through the consequences of a no deal. The EU do not see it as a serious threat for two reasons 1. It is a kamikaze act and they don't think any PM would be so stupid as to do it ( though with the likes of Boris they could be wrong on that !) 2.Yes there would be some damage to the EU economy (though ten times more to the UK), but there would be such an exodus of jobs out of the UK and in particular the city of London that the EU would ultimately benefit overall. "Millions of brave servicemen who died for Democracy are turning in their graves" ...when they fought to bring down a dictator and they see British PM candidates threatening the same dictator tactics such as proroguing of parliament to subdue the democratic process. | ![]() rogerrail
13/6/2019 14:03 | There was an Arctic Ocean study recently which concluded:""We found that very little ancient methane reaches surface waters even in the relatively shallow depths of 100 feet. Exponentially less methane would be able to reach the atmosphere in waters that are thousands of feet deep at the very edge of the shallow seas near continents, which is the area of the ocean where the bulk of methane hydrates are," Sparrow says. "Our data suggest that even if increasing amounts of methane are released from degrading hydrates as climate change proceeds, catastrophic emission to the atmosphere is not an inherent outcome."" | ![]() patientcapital

13/6/2019 13:12 | Min., very little ancient methane survives as a release into the atmosphere even in surprisingly shallow waters of 100 feet. In the deep oceans even less does.Boris - 114 votes. | ![]() patientcapital

13/6/2019 12:42 | Very few people actually read the science, that is the scientific papers written about climate change. Almost everyone reads journalistic output from climate science journos. People get misled because to become a reporter (or these days a commentator) on anything climate related you have to be a very hard believer otherwise there's no job for you. Reporters have no qualms about being believers because they have nothing to give them the ability to question anything scientific at all. An oxbfidge ppe or latin degree doesn't help anyone question anything scientific. Almost all climate science is done, probably in good faith by the majority, on climate models. Having said that, you won't get any further funding if you write up scenarious which produce a pretty normal future. Also, in belieers' minds, there's a very large conflation of climate change (which has always and will always occur) and man made climate change. The arguments put forward by believers are packed with just about every logical fallacy going, but these days the most prominent is the tu quoque fallacy, where people believe to be a member of the club, and feel some very misplaced moral superiority because of it. The effect of the climate change scare is extremely burdensome on the planet, with resources, both intellectual and financial, going down a big black hole when they could be put to benefit massively millions of unfortunate people. | ![]() shy tott
