That's a shocking story about those thugs who glued themselves to a train, stoned you. What difference does their motivation make to the commuters who couldn't get to work on time?

Ideally we should jail the judge and the members of the jury in that case.

SR Have to admit reflected on your view of LLOY after reading in the DT today about yesterday's share price fall 'after results of stress tests raised concerns over the bank's ability to deliver on share buyback plans next year'.
Seems to be one thing after another with LLOY, quite happy holding for yield compounding up but capital growth less clear.

The hedge funds which own the Co-operative Bank have begun sounding out prospective buyers of the business two-and-a-half years after it was saved from the brink of collapse.Sky News has learnt that the American investors which took control of the high street lender in 2017 are working with Goldman Sachs, the investment bank, to initiate discussions with potential bidders.City sources said on Wednesday that the investors, Goldman and Andrew Bester, the Co-operative Bank's chief executive, had held talks in recent weeks with a number of Britain's biggest retail banks.Barclays, Lloyds Banking Group and Royal Bank of Scotland are said to have been among those approached about a deal.A formal sale process is yet to get under way, but is expected to do so during the course of next year.Sky News............Trust Lloyd learned lessons and won't touch with a bargepole.

The UK is a net contributor to the EU budget. In other words, it contributes more to the EU budget than it receives back from it.

In 2017, another nine countries were also net contributors:

Germany
France
Italy
The Netherlands
Austria
Finland
Sweden
Denmark
Ireland
Germany, with a net contribution of €12.8bn, was the largest contributor, followed by the UK, with €7.43bn (£6.55bn).

It's going to get tough.

Brexit latest news: Emily Thornberry announces she will run to be next Labour party leader

Emily Thornberry has announced she will run to be the next leader of the Labour party.

The shadow foreign secretary used her leadership bid to criticise Jeremy Corbyn, as she called out his decision to back Boris Johnson's "Brexit election" and took aim at the lack of his team's "deep political insight".

KS suggestion that he wants to be leader is at odds with his assertion that A 50 and leaving the Eu - his vote makes him a truthful person.
As a barrister he should not replicate Ms Fleurot in Spiral BB4 who though qualified as a lawyer was ever ready to fxxk the law.
starmer is no different - but has the speak whereas short bailey angela eagle - no gcses lisa nandy just a gob are little to be afraid of.

pal44 7197: "Once BJ gets impeached sure something is going to creep out watch this space"

Good point pal44: The Tory MPs and Cabinet need to make sure they are squeeky clean going forward, no fiddling expenses, impropriety, declare all etc., that would give open goals for media.

From memory, Blair's rise to power wasn't solely due to his evangelical, clean cut appeal, there had been a backdrop of Tory sleeze. Tories would be well advised to make sure afap that history doesn't repeat itself.

Common sense prevails, nursing bursaries reinstated. Whatever next.. the relaxing for standards for UK doctors so they're comparable to those of 2nd & 3rd world countries where the NHS is forced to recruit from? The instances of litigation against overseas doctors more than TWICE those of UK medics. Good old Boris!

This is an investment thread/site. Obviously, politics, economics and business lead into investment policy and decisions.

If you want to get off on being an English language pedant there are other sites where I am sure English perfection is seen as important.

Not here.
