19/12/2019 16:38 | Why don't you understand that scotland hasn't had a vote on eu membership? Why don't you understand 'she does not accept the uk vote' is meaningless? They are just very simple facts. | pierre oreilly
19/12/2019 16:37 | Tbf, I do support another referendum on the grounds that Metropolitan Cameron gave assurances that Scotland would remain in the EU if they voted to remain in the Union. However, I think Crankie should get assurances from the EU that Scotland would be allowed entry when their finances are so appalling & well wide of the perimeters expected from Brussels. I think they're even worse than Turkeys which would set an unlikely president! Scotlands only option imo is to get their finances in order to meet EU guidelines then ask the question of the electorate. After all the UK's austerity programme post 2008 was necessary to do just that, something which is lost on Scotland who have continued to spend money like confetti and slag off their benefactors to boot. NOT ACCEPTABLE! | utrickytrees
19/12/2019 16:34 | What you talking about Pierre, that's wee jimmy's angle, that Scotland voted to stay in!!! She does not accept the UK vote to leave for Scotland. What don't you understand about that? | mikemichael2
19/12/2019 16:30 | Hee, Hee, Hee, taking it well tricky my old son............... | ladeside
19/12/2019 16:26 | 'They don;t recognise the uk vote' ffs, what does that mean? It's like me saying 'I don't recognise the uk speed limit' when caught speeding. It's just a nonsense collection of words with no pragmatic meaning. | pierre oreilly
19/12/2019 16:25 | Don't forget the European Q was not for Scotland.. it was a UK IN or OUT referendum. It's just happens to be on the losers site. | k38
19/12/2019 16:24 | mm2 - no they didn't. Scotland didn't have a vote on leaving the eu. It was a uk vote. | pierre oreilly
19/12/2019 16:20 | They also voted to stay in the EU, and we are taking them out. But they don't recognise the UK vote result as a whole, wee jimmy is throwing out her dummy. | mikemichael2
19/12/2019 16:18 | Independent Scotland is a SNP & Nikola Sturgeon dream NOT a dream of Scottish people. 55% (or more ?) of Scottish people vote to remain in the referendum. So make no mistake, this was an election and people, rightly so, voted of a local party to represent them in parliament. SO.. SNP must realise & except election victory does not mean INDEPENDENCE. | k38
19/12/2019 16:17 | Lade - who says scotland can't leave the uk under any circumstances? That's absurd - you seem to forget that very recently you had a vote on leaving and the vote was to stay. That's the reason you can't leave atm. I'm all for another referendum for the scots - but surely, these votes should be at a minimum of 5 year intervals, and not everytime some obnoxious scottish politician calls for one. I for one can see why the average scot wants to remain in the uk. Your scale makes it very difficult on such things as defence - or do those who want to leave expect the rest of the uk to defend it for free? And good luck trying to get trade deals with the eu - they'd be more interested in a deal with the bigger market of Yorkshire, purely on numbers imv. But have a referendum in 5 years, if you vote to leave then fine - I'd support you leaving. | pierre oreilly
19/12/2019 16:12 | Yes Lakeside, why? Well we want all your oil and wealth to plunder back down into England, and just leave you lot with deep fried mars bars and midges!!! | mikemichael2
19/12/2019 16:06 | You're referring to the moronic English public though as opposed to your power brokers who will not under any circumstances allow Scotland to leave. Doesn't that beg the question why ??? | ladeside
19/12/2019 16:04 | I'd go as far to say that your average thick Jockludite is exactly the same as an ageing employee with 25 years experience in a large company, they contribute very little & expect to be carried by everyone else. | utrickytrees
19/12/2019 15:52 | Ladeside, I'm Crankies biggest fan! I'd love for Scotland to do one, A UK without Scotkand would enable investment on unpresidented levels starting with the Northern Powerhouse. I do however feel extremely sorry for all the unionists who don't vote SNP in general elections, however it has to be acknowledged that many Scots are disingenuous in their voting patterns between referendums & general elections, they seemingly think its acceptable to want all the pro's without any of the cons. Unfortunately the SNP have burnt their bridges with many south of the border.I wouldn't be at all surprised now if the majority would happy to see Scotland plough their own furrow, particularly when considering disprortional funding & the lengths Westminster have bowed to the Scottish Nationalists in terms of devolution. | utrickytrees
19/12/2019 15:21 | Utrickytrees18 Dec '19 - 19:12 - 287221 of 287303 0 1 0 9 out of 10 Scots a burden to the state BB So WHY are you so intent in keeping us in the "union" and why are you so terrified about us leaving ?? I've yet to have any little Englander answer this question. Come on tricky trees give us your insight ??? | ladeside
19/12/2019 14:54 | Long labour faces.... lol | k38
19/12/2019 14:47 | Boris could well score further brownie points by abolishing the tv licence fee. Makes so much sense - get rid of hundreds/thousands of non-productive jobs (other measures should ensure opportunities in the wealth producing sector for those displaced), saves the worry and hassle of paying the fee, level playing field with those who don't pay for the service, and from a more global perspective, a move to lower the complexity of the overall financial system. Obviously paid for by taxpayers - probably an insignificant increase. Allow the beeb to advertise when the rates are above £1m per minute. Cap salaries at £1m for the exceptionally talented (would there be anyone?). Remove all the dross programs (a matter of taste, but surely some agreement could be reached over what is extremely niche or dross). | pierre oreilly |
