Hopefully, they are cutting down on buying imports from the EU.

I'm more a realist than an optimist, but having said that, just about everything has gone my way the last several weeks and months. No danger of realist/optimist topping themselves, unlike those pessimists who only see very dark grey clouds everywhere they look. Alp, remember to give the french sally army a ring before putting that knife to your wrists - things aren't that bad you know.

Great Alp, seems like people are coming to their senses, and those with no money deciding not to spend a grand on junk for their kids this christmas by borrowing from the doorstep lender at 1300%pa.

For the raving optimists:

Retail sales in the UK fell by 0.6 percent from the previous month in November 2019, missing market consensus of a 0.3 percent rise and marking the fourth consecutive month of no growth in trade, the longest such run since at least 1996. All sectors contributed negatively...…………;...

Just watched that odious, fat delusional harridan Emily Thornberry on SKY News. What part of 'sling your hook' don't these idiots understand.

I suppose the good thing about this Labour Party is that without much help they were able to show how the UK respond to Marxism. Michael Foot who was a far cleverer and nicer human being than anyone in today's Labour shadow cabinet, was cast aside in the early 80's, so it is good to know that nothing has changed.

I have a sneaking feeling that the Scots will not fall for the lefty populism of Wee Jimmy, she will fast become another Corbyn! Wait and see.

Re Stress tests.
It's great we've got an opinion, I'm just glad we've got the Bank of England who are probably best placed stear the course through choppy waters for British Banks should they arise. To this end they've doubled the 'cyclical capital buffer from 1% to 2%'.I'm inclined to let the BOE worry about the State of UK Finances in a downturn which free up Lloyd's to deliver shareholder returns.
