25/5/2019 12:36 | Getting, I would be interested to know when Porky started buying Kier. As I posted before, it’s lowest point in the last 11 years was about £5.50 during the 2008 crash. It did get up to about £15, but since then has been downhill most of the way to £2.81 yesterday. Add the dilution from the rights issue which Porky says he took up at £4.09. So apart from the dividends I can’t really see where Porky has made any profit. | ![]() brexitplus
25/5/2019 12:22 | Minerve, four key questions for you. 1. What is the cost of HS2? Clue - no-one knows. 2. Where do over 60% of the benefits accrue? Clue - it isn't north of the Watford Gap. 3. How many of the 10 current favourites to be next PM are supporters of HS2. Clue - it begins with a zero and ends with a zero. 4. What do you think will happen to Kier's share price when the plug is finally pulled? Clue - it won't go up. Love, GRS ❤️ | ![]() gettingrichslow
25/5/2019 11:26 | HS2 is toast for two reasons. One is that it has never been popular with the public and the second is that if we did leave without a deal the Gov't would need to pivot to projects that are far more shovel ready like roads and schools. HS2 is a complication the Gov't don't need in the run up to leaving the EU. Cancel order! | ![]() ltcm1
25/5/2019 10:53 | hsduk, with respect, it is nonsense to suggest HS2 can't be postponed (or completely cancelled). HS2 has spent around £690m so far I believe. That sounds a lot but it's a tiny percentage of the total anticipated cost. So it would be crazy to say 'because I've already spent £690m I have to now go and spend a further £58 BILLION'!! And you can recoup much of the £690m anyway because as you correctly say it has been spent on resaleable assets. Kier has some very big civil engineering contracts on HS2, but I don't have the numbers to hand, I'm sure someone on here has. | ![]() gettingrichslow
25/5/2019 10:20 | They can't postpone hs2 now. They been busy spending multi million pounds of tax papers money buying up whole streets and farm land along the route! | ![]() hsduk101
25/5/2019 10:19 | HS2 is going to be put on 'hold' if Boris Johnson gets in as he is in favour of a West East line up north so as to help MP's in certain areas. Would an HS2 postponement have a big impact in Kier??? | ![]() ltcm1
24/5/2019 17:31 | Are you a mature male getting? Your GF must be desperate. I guess in your neck of the woods the choices of males are pretty dire. | ![]() minerve 2

24/5/2019 16:55 | brexitplus - about the dividend. Do you mean the one they pay out of non existant profits??? Minerve says it's SAFE because the institutions like their regular cheques. | ![]() ltcm1
24/5/2019 16:53 | brexit plus, name says it all, just change it to knuckle dragger minus | ![]() porsche1945
24/5/2019 16:39 | Ltcm1 That’s ok then, particularly the falling dividend which may be non-existent next time round. Only down 6% today. And to think, all those rights issue shares, priced at £4.09, which required 50 for every 33 new. Woodford must know what he’s doing though😊 I also see that the highest ever price was near £20 and in the huge 2008 fall the lowest share price was about £5.20. Have to go back to 2001since it was this share price | ![]() brexitplus
24/5/2019 16:32 | brexitplus Minerve 2 says no need. "It's only a loss if you sell and I'm enjoying the dividends :)" | ![]() ltcm1
24/5/2019 16:21 | Getting Did Porky(filtered)just say he is still averaging down? | ![]() brexitplus
24/5/2019 16:13 | Consider this. With May gone will Grayling soon go? And if that happens will HS2 be stopped? There isn't a lot of support for it amongst the leading candidates for leadership. | ![]() gettingrichslow
24/5/2019 16:06 | Getting Not looking good. Even the rights issue shares are down 30%, or is it %30? To think these were over £10 a year ago. | ![]() brexitplus
24/5/2019 15:59 | B+, I don't think there is one. | ![]() gettingrichslow
24/5/2019 15:53 | Why should we sell? Because the share price is falling? Oh dear, some people haven't got a clue have they. LOL | ![]() minerve 2

24/5/2019 15:43 | This is really tanking now. Big trouble brewing. Anyone who is in here should seriously consider whether it's better to get out while you can. | ![]() gettingrichslow
24/5/2019 14:25 | Gray you have said a couple of times Kier is solvant because they could sell assets to reduce debt. But the problem is the banks are reducing their exposure to the construction sector, so anyone buying Kier's assets is going to have a hard time getting the funding. The other point is we are not talking about Kier going bust, what we are discussing is the risk of the shares going to pennies and getting wiped out. Kier as a business will keep going I'm sure. The thing is if housing and commercial property do slow down over the summer the actual cash flow of the business could become a problem. | ![]() ltcm1 |
