you cannot in any way compare britbox to netflixthe market agrees with that, the subscriber numbers back it upany takeover will undervalue the company by 30-50% vs post recession value

If you buy shares now, it's not like you are paying 250p, 200p, 150p or even 100p, this 60p area is a bargain IMO.
But that's investing, buy if you think it's cheap, and don't buy if you dont think its cheap.

hamhamham1:
If you look at the Naked Trader's trades ITV is just one of three that he's bought in August (and would you believe it the other one is Greggs - what did I tell you... LOL) :

Am very happy for these to be part of my balanced portfolio.
IMO, they will be bought out in the next 12 months, opportunistic and stategic buyers with cash in their pockets always circle post economic downturns.
Let's see :)

Cautious7: Its been in the 50s TWICE now (the double bottom I mentioned when I first came in). My feeling that this is "THE double bottom" is based on:
a) chart
b) end of lockdown for TV production
c) prospects for Britbox
d) recovery in advertising revenue as Christmas shopping approaches (sept)
e) valuation of ITV/Britbox compared to Netflix (netflix valued at 100 times more than ITV but with loads more rubbish unwatchable programs than ITV/BBC Britbox)

Compared to travel and leisure companies, these are like buying gold!

Having a balanced portfolio is the best way forward.

But it sure help, matey and that is a fact.
Btw, who the heck it was a "sole indicator"???????

another fact, gamblers here will bang on about how good it is if they buy but then spout the rubbish you did - a bit like broker upgrades are great but downgrades are rubbish

Anyway, I wish you luck and I may join in around the 50p for a pure gamble ideally sub 50p or if there is real bid spec, a spec that has been evading holders that are sitting on their hands for years

Director buying and selling should not be used as a sole indicator to trade.

hamhamham1: Those news items, reminds me of the pre-covid era when a mate of mine said "have a down market portfolio" - so he went for Greggs, Wetherspoons etc...

Coronation Street has to beat Greggs!

Hi

Dry since yesterday 3pm here, light clouds but poss of rain later in the day, pm.

Any tips in the sunday papers??

Don't forget, if the shares are "so cheap" why are you directors not picking up bargains with their own money!!!

stansmith3: They are putting shows onto Britbox first - its part of the plan. Some of these shows say "exclusive":

Will the new spitting image be exclusive to Britbox too?

Stansmith3: GLOBAL internet fashion is really fast and furious. ONE HIT SHOW and 30 days free will potentially get millions of subscribers - globally!
It could grow faster than ASOS or BOOHOO because it has the double whammy of BBC too.
Netflix v The British Establishment

It's like the Italian Job movie but for real

i dont think britbox can be compared to netflix in any way, the latter is valued on the basis that it will eventually become the biggest tv/film/studio the world has ever seen...that said, ive spent the morning going through itvs accounts from 2008 to 2010 to better understand how they will fair in this recession - well worth a look btw - what was interesting is how small the studios business was back then and how they planned to grow it and how they suceededbritbox is an extension of that content strategy, so who knows...i notice love island usa kicking off soon, from a vegas hotel bubble, not fiji as usual, does seems like they have missed a trick cancelling two series of that here

Thank you netcutains - you see there are many small mided simple people here and they may take your comments litrraly and think you bout at least 500k pounds of shares.

Sadly, too many simpletons about that clap their hands when a director buys but are dismissive when tehy dont and same applies to broker comments, ie positve comments are supported here and negative comments are often trashed

i keep it real - itv will never be what it was, the divi will never be what it was and the compeptiotn is growing by the second.

Let's all hope there is no bid atm as many losers may have an average buy price in excess of 180p, fact

It shows you: with net TV you just need one show to get people signing up. Not saying spitting image is that show - but who knows - it might be

I wonder if they will make them the week or so before, as per old series, to keep it very topical?

Trump, Putin, Boris et al gonna be funny.
Cummings will be the new Tebbitt, I reckon, maybe combined with a Bond villain?

"Is Norman coming out to play?" :)
