18/8/2020 19:39 | probably a lot do with them having millions of subscribers unlike itv | stansmith3
18/8/2020 19:17 | How are some USA TV companies doing: UP : Viacom CBS UP :Comcast NBC (Sky) ITV is following a very different path to the two big US TV companies. It would seem to me, we should see a substantial re-rating at some point to match the USA companies. | netcurtains
18/8/2020 18:32 | have they fallen much more than here?i live in their area and do my best to avoid their output, share volume is practically zero cant remember where, but some brokers rates it higher than itv in the last few weeks | stansmith3
18/8/2020 18:27 | triky treethey have it in for fossil fuels | stansmith3
18/8/2020 18:18 | Stan, why is Biden a concern for your oil shares? (I’m heavy in to BP and RDSB as well as these) | trikytree
18/8/2020 18:03 | Thanks ScepticalInvestor - interesting ideas In the over sold position there is Scottish TV: STVG Do we know why Scottish TV has collapsed so much? I used to hold shares in the company back in 2016: LOL I must be the kiss of death: You'll note I was like Cautious7 and had great faith in THREE directors buying - but alas the share fell - I learnt my lesson director buys are meaningless. | netcurtains
18/8/2020 17:42 | for what it's worth i believe that this will hit the 50's again this week. But volume is good - hence rsi u/b.could be a quick 5 - 6% from here. | scepticalinvestor
18/8/2020 17:23 | trickygreat post itv is my recovery share of choice, its basically as beaten down as much as the travel and finance industry, unfairly, i dont believe this will last, so either the banks/travel shares fall further or itv goes hpunfortunately for my oil holdings i think biden is an absolute shoe in in novemberi am very worried the brexit shambles has still to get worsepolitics/specul | stansmith3
18/8/2020 16:43 | tricky20: I was NOT saying 4 or 5pe ratio for 2020. I was attempting to say "IF" buy now-ish (as I have done) and I hold until things get back to "normal" (2021 or 2022) I will have got a price that equates to a pe of 4 of 5 in 2021 or 2022. I'm not really saying things will definitely get back to "normal" (obviously) but its got to be at least a strong possibility somewhere down the line that things will normalise (or even get loads better - eg BritBox Boom) . My position is basically WEY, WGB TRD and ITV (with bits and bobs else where). None of which appeals to you. I have had standard Life, Legal and General and Pearson, but noormally as a trade. I was looking for NETNET stocks earlier and made a bit of money on EVE and FCCN but now hold just a few for a bit of fun. | netcurtains
18/8/2020 16:33 | Thats interesting ScepticalInvestor. Are you expecting it to be up or down on open tomorrow morning? | netcurtains
18/8/2020 16:33 | Given no guidance for 2H20 lets assume they have a decent second half and make FY20 EPS OF 7p.Puts them on a 2020 PE of around 8.5x Curtains (not 4 or 5) with no promise of a divi.Do not get me wrong I am very long this share and will get longer on my macro assumptions of: 1.No further national lockdowns in either the UK or USA (though I expect further regional lockdowns) 2.Brexit deal-Germany cannot afford not to have a deal. 3.Continued stimulus from Bank of England and Fed especially (Trump is desperate). 4.Trump wins US election and large UK/USA trade deal follows. ITV is a classic recovery play.I expect 250p a share in 3 years. On this basis have a large position in Legal&General and will add whenever yield rises to 8.5% plus. Will add Dart Group at £5.50 or lower (no position yet) and will add Phoenix Capital at £6.00 or less (no position yet). My macro assumptions are purely my own and I do expect people to agree with me. | tricky20
18/8/2020 16:18 | decided to join you flock of seagulls with an initial punt at 60.40could be interesting | scepticalinvestor
18/8/2020 16:02 | thanks bookbroker. So basically (once back normal) I've bought into a FTSE100 company with a PE ratio of about 4 or 5 (once back to normal). Whats not to like? lol | netcurtains
18/8/2020 15:50 | Probably because the market is starved of action as regards M. and A., drop the valuation low enough and you might encourage corporate action. Could apply to many stocks these days, nothing really changed, but ITV did not offer much clarity on earnings visibility down the line, hence the falls. | bookbroker
18/8/2020 15:49 | Dividend cut for a start..not really expected and meant the numerous income funds would need to sell. | tricky20
18/8/2020 15:40 | Was there anything wrong with the update? Seemed what you'd expect to me.... | netcurtains
18/8/2020 15:39 | the business update in early Aug? | scepticalinvestor
18/8/2020 15:34 | Can someone recap for me: Why did ITV reach 90p in June but then the market changed its mind in July/August? Has anything fundamentally changed? If not then possibly 90p is not that far away? | netcurtains
18/8/2020 15:20 | n For trading I agree with the 1.30pm buy, also depends on how the US is going to open, but before then I buy at 8.35am and sell 11am. dyor | srpactive
18/8/2020 15:18 | Strong support do you mean? | srpactive
18/8/2020 15:05 | will it break 61?strong resistance there | scepticalinvestor
18/8/2020 15:03 | Yeah I find 8:10am and 1:30pm quite good. But I guess 2:30pm is also good. | netcurtains
18/8/2020 14:35 | 2.30pm, just. A good time to buy is 8.35am UK time. | srpactive |
