Stag, the advantage of even a low-ball bid for ITV would probably flush out any other interested predators. Plus the added bonus of being able to invest the proceeds into other companies while still low share prices. I for one would welcome any bid.

I wouldn't care if no bid came for a while, let Dame Carolyn get the share price back to 150p and re-instate the dividend.

Then if a bid came, it will be nearer the true value of what is at the moment a bombed out stock.

Trying to think of what could spark a takeover bid? Maybe a big jump in Britbox subscribers would attract a bid. ITV have a lot of content that could prove to be a big hit to the right buyer.

The above IG article is from March 2020 - since then LG pulled out from bidding for Univision.

Looking at the LG results last week, the balance sheet indicated $8.4b cash and $29b debt. Acquisition or pay down debt?

cautiousthe board doesnt know when the divi will be restored, so why would anyone here?the share price is priced where it is for good reason, this bb is not full of mindless rampingitvs finances are fairly easy to understand, its a fairly straightforward recovery play, getting to buy at half price for an 18 month turnaround represents a good risk reward to me, if itv loses 500m in the next year, then its a 24 month wait...i can cope...you declined the opportunity to outline what you think the finances will be over the next two years and what effect that will have on the spuntil you do so you just sound like a bitter bear, i really am interested to hear in detail why you think the outlook is so bad, personally i discount britbox, but then netflix wont be the end of itv either

Dellusionally in denial is all i can say.

When a director beterr still directors buy with their own money in substantial amounts it shows confidence in the company or are you lot going to say no to that

C7 - seeing itv as a day trading penny share where mm pull people in and then bang they are out and same again, lol. nothing going for itv atm and that is a fact unless you can tell me when the divi will be restored the same divi many said was "safe" lol and what amount.

ps - i may join in when the vaccine arrives and share price is at a price where i am cert to make a quick killing - dyor, lol
