10/8/2020 22:10 | Cautious7: I've done some research on director buyings and selling. Such trades rarely if ever have an effect that lasts more than a day. the reason ITV "looks" good is that its now at the low point it hit in the "covid lock-in" crash back in march/april. Its a "double bottom". Statistically speaking many FTSE stocks rally at this point especially ones with potentially a rosey future (eg end of lock down means production of new TV shows can restart and thus ITV news flow will be ramp-ed up).. anyway, we're at the point GREED starts to beat FEAR (traditionally speaking).. Dow Futures are UP which normally means (well over 50% of time) that the FTSE 100 will be up too . ITV is part of FTSE 100. So statistically speaking ITV stands a goodish chance of rising tomorrow - but who knows... Who knows perhaps NETFLIX or AMAZON (etc) will BUY ITV to get hold of more TV production and a big slice of Britbox.... Anything can happen | netcurtains
10/8/2020 21:55 | why dont you post your numbers?sales etc for h2 and why that gets share price the 40-50 range that you keep posting? | stansmith3

10/8/2020 18:14 | looks like an easy double with a 12-18 month viewwhy the market is placing a bigger discount i can only wonder, best guess is that things might get a little worse before things get better? | stansmith3
10/8/2020 18:13 | Perhaps the Long, Long Goodbye. | dalep716
10/8/2020 17:27 | Strange day.Quiet then over 8m in closing audition at a higher price!Someone quietly accumulating Probably GS buying back their position | boix
10/8/2020 16:59 | Wolf Hall was excellent. | alex1621
10/8/2020 16:39 | People will subscribe once we get the one off must see series (this worked well for Amazon) | netcurtains
10/8/2020 16:00 | I think that’s pretty good especially as the service is not available via connected TVs or SKY/Virgin Boxes. Also assume that’s uk only and just subscribers actually paying - excluding free introductory offer | boix
10/8/2020 15:37 | Journalist Alex Nelson is claiming that Britbox uptake is only 600,000 which is disappointing : | gerardp
10/8/2020 14:30 | Certainly true.Just now need to rise! | boix
10/8/2020 14:07 | If you look at yearly chart it definitely looks like we hit double bottom (eg the beginning of the lock down and NOW). I know this chart thing is over rated but still - certainly looks like a long from here | netcurtains
10/8/2020 13:45 | We took a free trial of Britbox in early May. Decided to give it a try as Netflix wasn't giving much content for us, we are what advertisers consider to be the grey pound. Anyway, cutting a long story short, it has been terrific value. Things we had missed first or second time round were there for our pleasure. So far we have watched Broadchurch 1 and 2, Wolf Hall, Downton Abbey and The Trip, it is great to think we are not even tickling the huge back catalogue. Have been watching Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon in 'The Trip' to Italy, it is really good television. | robwt
10/8/2020 13:18 | Anyone notice that Black Rock have gone quiet? Last RNS was Nov 19 when they announced a 5.73% holding in ITV. In fact, during 2019 there were 9 RNS updates using similar GS tactics. For 2020 there has been zero activity. | gerardp
10/8/2020 13:11 | alex1621: Lots of original content being planned and lots of expansion. I think there is now a lot of power with companies like ITV that own studios - everyone will be rushing to get post Covid shows out... | netcurtains
10/8/2020 12:34 | They are custodians of the Liberty Global 'leveraged' 9.9% position. | boix
10/8/2020 12:01 | Good post Bob, Ivan Boesky has posted that Goldman Sachs are holding a stack of ITV. | stewart19
10/8/2020 11:57 | Outside the UK was the old original USA BritBox offering/deal started/ struck years ago - different time/management on both sides | boix
10/8/2020 11:56 | Oh, incidentally. My original comment wasn't on BritBox, it was on ITV being 20% of its previous value ... too low in my view. | alex1621
10/8/2020 11:54 | I'm overseas so that's a distinct possibility. I'm going to wait until they start putting original content on the service. It's not intended to compete with Disney or Netflix, but it would only take one or two blockbuster original shows to make it a money spinner. I mean, Peppa Pig ... who would have thought? | alex1621
10/8/2020 11:47 | Thanks Geradp - why 50/50 outside the uk??? | cautious7
10/8/2020 11:47 | Footnote, I am still adding this morning. | bobdiamond1 |
