New pandemic?
Bird flu?

Get a grip geez.

Far more worrying is what Labour will do once elected.

Emergency budget anyone?

And then the shafting begins. Of anyone with anything, especially whitey, for the benefit of those with little, especially the ragheads

smurfy2001 - They've now fixed the RNS error!

RNS Released : 17 Jun 2024 18:09 had the same numbers in both places (in error):

"Following the above transaction, the Company holds 59,841,028 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 3,992,568,166 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).

Since the commencement of the share buyback programme announced on 7 March 2024, the Company has repurchased 59,841,028 ordinary shares in aggregate at a weighted average price of 73.33 pence per share."

RNS Released : 18 Jun 2024 17:39 now has different numbers (correct):

"Following the above transaction, the Company holds 60,862,431 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 3,991,546,763 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).

Since the commencement of the share buyback programme announced on 7 March 2024, the Company has repurchased 69,362,431 ordinary shares in aggregate at a weighted average price of 73.38 pence per share."

I knew I was right - they've now acknowledged that the buyback has repurchased 8.5m more shares than is currently in Treasury. :)

I went into an 80% cash position today. From a TA perspective I believe a significant correction is on the horizon. Maybe a week or so off yet.

What concerns me most is the new 'pandemic'. There's a worrying sense of déjà vu about the whole thing.

Do a bit of digging and protect your accounts if you share my concerns.

Good numbers keep appearing, but the share price does nothing. This needs a re-rating!

ITV
What it does: ITV is the UK’s largest commercial broadcaster and operates a vast global production division.

By Royston Wild. ITV’s (LSE:ITV) share price has been under sustained pressure as weak advertising revenues have smacked profits. The former FTSE 100 broadcaster is down 7% over the past year, meaning over the last five years it has lost a whopping 45% of its value.

As a result, the company now trades on a rock-bottom forward price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 8.5 times. This is bound to attract the attention of a number of suitors.

The jewel in ITV’s crown is its sprawling production arm. ITV Studios — which is home to global hits like Love Island and The Voice — now accounts for 51% of group revenues.

And sales here are growing ahead of the market, up 4% to record levels in 2023. In an age when streaming companies are crying out for new content, ITV’s production prowess could make it a hot takeover target. Might the likes of Netflix or Amazon soon come calling?

Royston Wild does not own shares in any of the shares mentioned.

I can't believe that 10m people in England and Wales watched Germany V Scotland. It would be interesting to know how many foreign viewers there were, ie is ITVX gaining customers globally?

smurfy2001 - yes they probably took some treasury shares to use for employee share schemes as it's easier/cheaper than issuing new shares.

However they made some mistakes with the RNS announcements around that time - and tried to explain it in this one on 5th June:

"The Company notes that in its announcements in respect of transactions in own shares made from 8 May 2024 to 4 June 2024, the number of ordinary shares in treasury, number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares) and the total number of voting rights in the Company were erroneously stated. The number of ordinary shares in treasury should have been reduced by an amount of 8,500,000 shares. The number of ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares) and the total number of voting rights in the Company should have been increased by an amount of 8,500,000 shares."

However ... what they then did was adjusted BOTH of the Treasury numbers in subsequent RNS announcements - this was a mistake and is ongoing unfortunately...

So for example in the 14th June RNS you see these 2 statements:

"Following the above transaction, the Company holds 57,185,494 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 3,995,223,700 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares)."

"Since the commencement of the share buyback programme announced on 7 March 2024, the Company has repurchased 57,185,494 ordinary shares in aggregate at a weighted average price of 73.20 pence per share."

Whilst the first is correct - they hold 57,185,494 in Treasury - the second is wrong as they have purchased 65,685,494 since buyback started, which reduced by the 8.5m results in the CURRENT number in Treasury of 57,185,494.

Or in other words - literally if you opened all the buyback RNS's and added up the purchased number of shares it would total 65,685,494 (this is basically what I do when I save it each day in my XLS...)

Simple mistake which I hope they fix soon...

BigEgoADVFN, why is it wrongly quoted perhaps they disposed some of the treasury shares for employee share scheme?
