17/3/2024 19:57 | In the case of IQE I'd say loss warnings | alotto
17/3/2024 19:33 | Like profit warnings they are often out of the blue 😉😂 | longtallsally
17/3/2024 14:03 | Does IQE usually announce a date for the release of results of does it come out of the blue? | alotto
17/3/2024 13:45 | “ Another reason to delay results till end of May” WHAT! There is Zero I repeat Zero reason for results to be delayed till the end of May- are you bonkers, 🤨 come to think of it are you even invested here nowadays? In my opinion it will be irresponsible to delay results further than the 2nd week of April. S | sweenoid
17/3/2024 10:43 | @longtallsally They turned over 63m in H2. Assuming they do that in H1/H2 2024 that gives 126m revenue. They would need 20m* more to meet 2024 broker targets. Worst broker assumes 7m more revenue. Best nearly 30m more. Just meeting targets may not be enough to shift the dial here. If sales have grown in H1 then that should help. I wouldn't get caught up in the 3x revenue plan too much at this stage. If big new orders arrive the share price will rise. 2027 is 3-4 years off assuming he meant by the end of 2027. At present no news is good news as it means they are performing as expected. Another reason to delay results till end of May. | guildedge
17/3/2024 10:17 | longtallsally - and you had the nerve to criticise me recently for what you termed my constant negativity. Jeez. | lord loads of lolly
16/3/2024 22:09 | Sadly all this PR is flimflam until IQE prove revenue and profit growth. The old “cheap as chips” phrase seems a little worn out at this point I would be amazed if Americo continues to peddle the 3x revenue malarkey at the earnings update because he risks having egg on his face | longtallsally
16/3/2024 11:46 | ( for above link) Our CEO spoke at the big GSA - Global Semiconductor Alliance meeting in London on Thursday - his comment below “ A great day the Global Semiconductor Alliance International Semiconductor Conference in London yesterday with valuable insights and discussions with peers from across the industry. A couple of highlights from yesterday: - Insightful presentations from Jodi Shelton and IQE board member Maria Marced in the GSA-WLI Women in Semiconductors session - A great panel discussion with fellow panelists Giorgia Longobardi, David Moore and Simon Thomas FREng, lead by moderator Sebastian Göke - Presentations from Jalal Bagherli and Saqib Bhatti MP MBE on the UK semiconductor industry strengths and UK National Semiconductor Strategy progress. I'd also like to thank you Global Semiconductor Alliance for the opportunity to address the conference and share insights on how to enable #AI in a #netzero world and how third-generation semiconductors such as #GaN are needed to deliver the promise of AI and solutions to overcome bottlenecks across the ecosystem.” Too many ‘coulds’ and extended time lines for my liking but a very measured analysis by IQE’s Rodney Pelzel I found the next link fascinating ( you might not 😂) it’s a very recent interview with our new ( and importantly INVESTED- before he joined us) non exec director Bami Bastani, it’s related to his recent appointment as non- exec chairman at Sivers who I believe could well become good customers. He talks about his extensive success and experience and explains in easy to understand language about some of the technologies Sivers is in - ask yourself why this guy bought IQE shares and accepted a NED role and make up your own mind, it’s a good watch anyhow the link is via LinkedIn and it’s YouTube video FINALLY then it’s rugby all day 😂- this is the comment from the Peel Hunt Technology lead at the brokers Peel Hunt Related to Americo’s speech at the GSA meeting referenced above Despite all the buzz on AI chips, there are lot of bottlenecks beyond the compute that needs addressing to herald the Zenith of this 3rd AI era . If you put the AI chips at the centre, you can visualise the efficient powering of those systems, collecting the best possible sensor data, communicating without friction and highest grade outputs as domains that are limited by what is possible with Silicon. This is where compound semiconductor materials are gaining traction given they can operate at higher frequencies (speed), deal with high power more efficiently and can deal with photons (“light” Great to see Americo Lemos talk to how they will help enable “AI on a Net Sero future” at the recent Global Semiconductor Alliance conference which returns to London after eons! Jalal Bagherli should take a lot of credit for engaging the city around this event and help shine a light on the breath and depth of established and up-and-coming IP in the country. S | sweenoid

16/3/2024 07:42 | They said short DARK too, which has doubled in past year. share price are not that great at making money, and once they say something never change their tune, even if they are proved wrong. I wouldn’t worry about what they say. | crosswires
16/3/2024 03:14 | TW from share price said short today 👀 | snaffleclamp
15/3/2024 16:35 | I wonder how can we be sure that IQE is the epitaxy provider for porotech or MECLIDI for a project.? I mean I understand we are epi-services patner for both the companies but its not exclusive I believe. MECLIDI is also involved with global foundaries which is positive for us. But porotech could be working with a lot of other patners for epi-services. In fact foxconn perse has in house services or PSMC for that matter. How do we determine the IQE epi-services are used for MicroLED's apart from press release from IQE (Raw material usage ?)? | myshareinfo
15/3/2024 16:30 | Forget the shorts..it's a good price. Just bought another 100k shares! | amishp67
15/3/2024 16:03 | @cielos. It's likely share still being shorted. I think Canaccord have reach their holding limit. Lombards have someone on board of directors and have 14%. Need new funds to buy in here. | guildedge
14/3/2024 23:54 | In the Jan TU they say design win for Micro Led and Gan. Which suggests customers have already picked IQE for their products? The question then becomes when the products will actually go into production. Where IQE will be quiet is where and when these pipeline orders will come. It seems maybe GAN will arrive first? Why mention Micro Led if it was that far off? They are expanding into other areas too. Will they do an RNS to say they have started to produce Micro LED products? My gut is they will use H2 to create a recovery story if things are going as well as Sweenoid suggests. For H1 figure you would be looking at June/July update. For H2 if there is good news I would expect November for a TU. With perhaps other news feeds as you get to H2. There is still no date for 2023 results on any sites. I would expect at least a 1-2 weeks notice. Maybe something will appear Monday on the main site next week. | guildedge
14/3/2024 23:43 | Some resistance at the top over 24 and moving lower once again Let's hope eventually will break | cielos
14/3/2024 15:27 | Well Porotech ( using IQE epitaxial wafers) certainly don’t seem to be down on the microled ‘market’ ! 🙂 Yet another partnership with a very significant partner announced today along with a very bullish statement So GIS added to Powerchip and FOXCON for the purpose of MASS production. I totally ‘get’ the idea that commercialisation of microleds seems a way off but am confused why mass production ‘vendors&rsquo | sweenoid
13/3/2024 17:14 | Guild i’m sure some GaN orders from the new machines will be existing customers yes, just that the Micro LED is a few years off but we knew that anyway after the Apple AMS news. I’m also sure some of that £30m will hit in 2024 and not all of the lost revenue will disappear, just a question of how much | crosswires
13/3/2024 16:54 | Is it possible that some of the additional orders will come from existing clients rather than new orders? Or is the lost revenue gone for good? They need about 30m in further orders. Gan could cover a lot of that? | guildedge
13/3/2024 16:40 | Great post Provonar, thanks. I concur that I don’t see great things in 2024 just incremental progress revenue wise, I think it’s 2025 and 2026 where we hopefully start to gain momentum and hence why the share price is low 20s because they market does not see major growth Imminently. | crosswires
13/3/2024 13:26 | Further news from the Micledi/Global Foundries microLED supply chain: So, the technology continues to mature - this next step is to develop the circuit needed to control the microLED emitters in the display to then produce a display module that can be commercialised. So, this is still a mid-term development, but it's encouraging to see statements that this is reckoned to be the most advanced project for scale commercialisation of microLED displays. Considering the recent bad news from the AMS-Osram & Apple cooperation collapsing (it's bad from the perspective that everyone will take a second look at whether microLEDs are worth the investment and thus may have a cooling effect on the overall industry development timeline), it's good to see development marching forward in the separate supply chain that definitely includes IQE. It's interesting what is said about 300mm GaN production. As far as I can see, IQE only covers 150mm & 200mm III-V (GaN) epitaxy production - but this is similar to most other III-V epitaxy fabs. There is a recent charge on IQE for the transfer and commitment to pay for two (of three) tools from Aixtron, see the 22.2.2024 entry: These AIX G5+C MOCVD tools ( only have cradles for 150mm & 200mm wafers. Looking through the other Aixtron tools on offer, it looks like none of the commercial machines go higher than 200mm at present. Maybe some other tool supplier is already looking at 300mm tools for research applications. So, difficult to know where Micledi's confidence in 300mm production is coming from - perhaps it's sales talk to reinforce the fact that their microLED production is ready for large volumes and therefore will be affordable for OEMs, but hopefully it indicates that this milestone is within reach in the mid-term (which would mean IQE would have to purchase 300mm tools at some point...). However, I expect, just like for VCSELs, the first commercial ramps will be on 150mm or 200mm wafers - so the recent purchase of tools by IQE will still be important plant for the near term. Step-by-step progress, but it's difficult to see where any significant new orders will come in 2024. There's the sliver of a chance that Apple will switch microLED suppliers in favour of IQE's supply chain, but I expect Micledi/GF would already be in talks with other OEMs about the production for AR applications. However, the ASIC design that Micledi is doing could take anywhere from 1-4 years to complete development and qualification... | provonar

13/3/2024 09:18 | Let’s see what the earnings outlook says. Whilst I too am pessimistic on the 3x “noise” I do think GaN can transform IQE back into a market leader and make the company investible once more. | tomduck
13/3/2024 08:37 | Agreed Crosswires, and I fear Americo has likely backed himself into a corner over this 3x revenue talk. Realistically we all know it’s not doable, so it’s whether he now waters down that forecast or keeps persisting with it, in which case he is just delaying the inevitable which is a degree of losing face. Imo it was a poorly executed public statement in the first place, because it was always likely to be unachievable. Fine for an internal meeting to rouse the troops but sets the company up to disappoint the market in reality and for them not to be taken seriously if they miss substantially which is always likely given how often IQE suffer from bottlenecks and headwinds… | longtallsally
13/3/2024 08:27 | Yep but we have heard it all before, so it’s all about cold hard facts in the shape of revenue and profit via increasing margins, literally nothing else matters for IQEs share price As you say they need to give us some meat on the bone at the update to signpost more clearly the direction of travel. I am still puzzled if things are going to plan why more insiders are not buying, because it’s not always a closed period. | crosswires |
