24/2/2024 20:54 | I thought IQE had agreements with customers to help them buy tools. When the big orders start to come in and the share price rises you would expect them to be able to raise capital at much higher prices. Hopefully closer to £0.7-£1+. At present the market is valuing the share price at what IQE said it was worth. 24p. I doubt Cannacord and others will want to get burned here. If they meet targets this year I would expect the price to rise back closer to 30p. If big new orders come in the same will be true. At present all they have talked about is GAN. Even at 146m they would be losing 10M or so. So it makes valuation harder. Could be 2 years away from making a profit here. 185-190m revenue required for that. See if I get proved wrong about the TU in March. | guildedge
23/2/2024 12:35 | Time will tell, I sincerely hope IQE gets a huge grant. | longtallsally
23/2/2024 10:22 | I guess we'll see soon enough. Hope you're right, but I really wouldn't hold your breath. | lord loads of lolly
23/2/2024 10:01 | Tradertrev Agreed It’s also rather important that IQE are a major supplier to the US Military ( via Raytheon) and to Global Foundries already a benefactor of the CHIPS ACT. Any investment in IQE in the US would be an investment in local communities too. S | sweenoid
23/2/2024 09:39 | Ref Chips Act funds - and US federal expenditure in general, I think it's more important that you have a US located operation, employing American people, than being US owned as such. In addition, I think IQE has a reasonable percentage of the shares in US hands? | tradertrev
23/2/2024 09:29 | Longtallsally - the US will definitely prioritise US companies for any Chips Act funds. They've become increasingly protectionist & insular in recent years - and you might say who can blame them? If Trump were back at the helm (which I fear he soon will be), you could categorically say it would ONLY be US companies that received any funding. With Biden, you never know. But I suspect this is classic Sweenoid Tiggerism - yet another triumph of his hope over our experience. | lord loads of lolly
23/2/2024 09:20 | Just for info Are you ready for one of the most exciting power conferences of the year? APEC 2024 aims to bring together what we have learned so far on power semiconductors and a preview in what future innovations will help fuel a #netzero #netzerocarbon society. If you would like to learn more about what IQE is doing to enable this future, we would love to meet with you!! S | sweenoid
23/2/2024 09:19 | I know nothing to do with IQE PLC. Just wondering if anybody recalls from 20 plus years ago that Imagination technology Plc were going to have Nvidia Plc for breakfast.(maybe a wistful thought at a boozy AGM in king,s Langley)just a thought as Nvidia Plc is now a global leader.Back to Iqe PLC.good luck all. | wingnut707
22/2/2024 15:33 | Given the Sox semi ETF is at an all time high, i’m a little disappointed that IQE hasn’t at least got back to 25p today. Surely some more people (even with past experiences under Drew) will start to join the dots sooner rather than later… | crosswires
22/2/2024 15:30 | It would be marvellous however you have to wonder of the USGov would hand out much to UK listed companies ahead of US listed? Hey i’ll be happy if IQE get any grants from any direction they may flow but my recent nature is to be seriously cautious about anything positive happening to IQE! My fingers and occasionally legs remain crossed ;) 🤞 | longtallsally
22/2/2024 15:27 | Longtallsally Completely agree - having met him and seen the highly impressive cast of characters he has assembled I believe he can turn IQE around. Unfortunately we all Iive with past disappointment with this stock and nothing can be taken for granted. Anyhow this is worth a read. Given Americo was ‘at it’ with the CHIPS ACTfrom day 1 and then the recent appointment of a VP for ‘government affairs’ I have to be optimistic Wouldn’t it be fantastic ( and great news for the share price if we are included These are intensive negotiations, we are in the thick of it now with our major applicants," a senior administration official said this week, promising further announcements would be coming within weeks. 22/2/2024 11:09 | I believe he is saying it as it is, the only question in many minds is can IQE execute to make major revenue and profit growth. That’s the issue. The market for Compound Semis is clearly going to boom over the next 1-5 years at least | longtallsally
22/2/2024 09:50 | Re sweenoids 3910 "While silicon remains a cornerstone of semiconductor technology, its limitations in certain applications necessitate this complementary approach. IQE is at the forefront of driving this transformative change. With our expansive global operations and scalable capabilities, we are uniquely positioned to address the burgeoning demand for next-generation technologies and the compound semiconductors that will enable them.” If as reported AI computation needs shedloads of energy then if compound IC's can do the same computation and power management with less energy then it seems certain the rise of AI will be mirrored with the rise of compound semis. Maybe Americo is saying as it is. -------------------- The AI Boom Could Use a Shocking Amount of Electricity | colsmith
22/2/2024 09:16 | crosswires - Quite. Logic & IQE don't go together. Unless your name's sweenoid. In which case, every bit of positive news in the wider sector is interpreted as a great omen for IQE. Which it rarely has been. I'm quite happy to hold still & see if the stars finally align this time. But I won't be adding - even at this seemingly low level - in case it's just another eclipse. Show me the money. | lord loads of lolly
22/2/2024 08:10 | Agreed, common sense dictates that IQE will prosper well out of this trend but on the other hand we know that IQE has failed to execute before, this is what is stopping the wider market buying in. They are waiting for proof in the form of numbers. I’m ok with that, it’s what caused the spike from below 20p to £1.70+ last time round. | crosswires
22/2/2024 08:00 | Given the news AND STUNNINGOUTLOOK for AI from nVidia last night and Americo’s comment to me that AI is not possible without compound semiconductors AND the huge CHIPS ACT funding in the USA for our strategic partner for GAN, the following recent statement from IQE Had surely better feature in IQE’s medium to long term outlook ( more important than the FY23 numbers which are near irrelevant really) in the upcoming earnings and trading update, if it isn’t their rhetoric will seem rather embarrassing won’t it? 😉 “Every day, as the world becomes increasingly more reliant on high-tech solutions, the focus has shifted from simply managing semiconductor supply chains to actively future-proofing them. In this effort, the integration of compound semiconductors alongside silicon emerges as a pivotal strategy. Whilesilicon remains a cornerstone of semiconductor technology, its limitations in certain applications necessitate this complementary approach. IQE is at the forefront of driving this transformative change. With our expansive global operations and scalable capabilities, we are uniquely positioned to address the burgeoning demand for next-generation technologies and the compound semiconductors that will enable them.” S | sweenoid
21/2/2024 22:33 | Crosswires we just need solid figures behind that statement | alotto
21/2/2024 22:07 | Nvidia up 10% after hours, 268% revenue increase and reporting that AI is hitting the tipping point. Americo may just be right about exponential compound semi growth… | crosswires
21/2/2024 17:53 | Topped up today at a fraction under 22.9p taking advantage of fairly high price drop but resisted mortgaging the farm. (Not that I have one to mortgage.) | votiem
21/2/2024 09:21 | £1b over 20years, so total amount is less than GF get in their first phase of US chip act allocation. But nothing has been allocated as yet. Which equates to 50 million for the entire sector a year at absolute best, but it wouldn’t surprise me if future Govs water it down further or don’t allocate it all. | crosswires
21/2/2024 09:03 | I thought the UK gov was subsidising the chip industry? | alotto
21/2/2024 08:55 | Nvidia report today, will be interesting to see how they fare BUT market is expecting either great results or given how much their share price and the Nasdaq has run up on AI the froth may come off the sector and tech shares may take a short term dive. 25/26p really is important to get past on IQE and as mentioned before, I think it needs some actual specific company good news to make this happen… | crosswires
19/2/2024 13:54 | FYI Global Foundries gets a part of the chips acts funds. The burlington plat is part of upgrade plan. Hope it benefits IQE. hxxps://www.washingt | myshareinfo |
