guildedge - you do realise IQE's share price has barely budged in recent weeks (dropped slightly), despite your yawn-inducing running commentary about which fund's sold what to whom?

All of which kinda suggests it's not worth fretting about. Or wasting time on.

Well that was a couple of interesting RNS.

Tradex Ltd have essentially added 10m or so shares and loaned a third or so of them out. So maybe one of the 10m trades.


Richard Griffiths has taken back 25m shares which were on loan. Plus added 2.3% which is about 22m shares. 25m and 10m?

The automated trades would muddy the water a bit here. 59m shares tradeed over 3 days on LSE. Above adds to about 57m.

There are about 35m shares here that have come from someone. Citigroup previously did their trades off market. Are we due another RNS tomorrow? My gut is Citigroup have cleared. Their last RNS followed 3 days after the event.

I bought a chunk at 59p too but would be looking to exit at double. Yet another contract win today i see.

Let’s hope IQE can offer its investors some good news in the next few months too…

I’d view Ensi as a potential short term trade but perhaps not a long term bet, as we see with AIM often, the share prices of the latest flavour of the month can run up big time, and then deflate in a hurry, so maybe it’s worth viewing it as an opportunity in the short term, as it may get pushed up by AI hype

There is scarce visibility on partnerships and application of IQE technologies.
Maybe trading updates should supply more info and give more insight on deliverables to the market. Not just financial ambitions.

The key thng is that micro LED does not appear to be doable at consumer price point in short to medium term. That does not stop it being used in military and industrial applications. Lower volume but larger mark up.

The key thing here is taking events relative to IQE current situation. From reading other posts Micro LED was not a major part of the 3x revenue. Maybe in future years as costs fall. When that does happen IQE will be in the market already. It's possible IQE's 2 small partners here may still use the tech. Have to see where the market goes.

IQE is currently 22p. Even a shift of 75-100m here will certainly double to triple the share price here. IQE was targeting 70p for director bonuses to kick in. Let's see what boost GAN can bring from the US this year. IQE is diversifying so hopefully some or all of the markets will come good.

Excellent spot, so we know it’s not the lions-share of the 3x 2022 revenues by 2027 then, although $50m for IQE is not inconsiderable. There can be little doubt though that the Micro LED market with Apples news will not be the size it was previously thought to be by 2027, whichever company is behind it. If Apple and its partners cannot crack it cost effectively then perhaps it’s going to continue to be a large screen niche market for the foreseeable…

IQE forecast for display revenue (according to capital markets day) was 50 million dollars in 2027.So 1/13 of total revenue forecast 2027.

Ross Young is the industry expert on “screens”;, this is his take on Micro LED issue on Twitter. It would seem Micro LED in high volume is not likely in IQE 3 x revenue by 2027 timeframe, so we should hope that it is not being banked upon. Ross and Ming are the go to experts on this subject.

We believe the LTPS backplane and MicroLED transfer projects were also canceled. We don't expect Apple to build its own MicroLEDs at this point but could buy from another supplier in the future if the costs, yields and volume are there. Another moonshot project kicked to the curb.

It is certainly a challenge to make MicroLEDs at consumer prices...

It all seems to point to mid to long term delay for this tech which tallies with AMS considering selling its purpose built 1.4b dollar factory if it was just 1 or 2 year delay.

Guild given how relatively small IQEs two partners are they can’t be planning on doing anything like the volume that AMS would have been doing for Apple. So perhaps Micro LED isn’t big in Americos 3x revenue estimates? I don’t view this as a positive for the Micro LED market though, as Crosswires points out above.

The question is will IQE 2 partners for Micro LED agree with Apple?

Well - a bit of a wobble in the last two days but ultimately IQE is managed very well by Mr Lemos and his team and the company has exciting prospects. Trade volume massive today - some big repositioning taking place, surely.

Can't see too much downside from here. Well done to those who bought in around lunchtime at just over 20 pence.

Great spot Crosswires, and as you said before the 3x was never seriously considered doable by me, so let’s hope it wasn’t expected to be the lions share of how Americo saw us getting such large revenue growth!
