ST Micro 4th quarter margin better than expected, share price up 9% pre market.

Last week I said the range is between 60-72p and this well over my range. Bring it on IQE still a long way to go my target is 170p.

Those people at Mercer that went the extra mile to get my pension transferred 9 days ahead of their estimate on 23rd Jan have potentially brought my retirement forward many years of this turns out to be shorts closing. Being 10% short, somebody did some maths a while back that if just half of them need to close how many days of regular volume they must buy at and it was amazing numbers. This could go clear to £1 in a week or two.

Those that have not read the presentation from the last AGM, don't follow the share price, spend an hour reading it and then decide to buy or sell.

Many thanks to rivaldo for his post [24083] on MACON/GAN. And, repeating it on ii with a 'STRONG BUY' recommendation 'could' help boost IQE's share price.

A nice rise this morning, up 4.3p as I write. No news from IQE, but that's to be expected as they 'don't do that sort of thing'. I'm hoping that it's due to shorters beginning to close in a meaningful way. GLA!

EDIT: Make that, "up 5.36p as I write". If this keeps up we could be passing VRS [share price wise] before close of play today.

Took my eye of the ball as watching share price is as dull as watching paint dry, so I've been.. errr..painting. ;-)
S&P flat, so no influence there, not aware of any salient news.
Deep frost this morning so may as well burn my book on Keynesian theory. ;-)

The time gap between the announcements may have been awaiting confirmation of funding.
IQE say "driven by the Welsh Government" but don't mention money.

I wouldn't be concerned at the size of investment relative to others (they grabbed the headlines) as the scope of the research may be vastly different. If they get enough to achieve what they want to do and what partners may have asked them to do, that will do nicely.
