Thanks Saucepan, I guess that is one way of doing it.
I think you had to be a holder by the close on 8 March to qualify for the open offer, interestingly the day the price spiked down to... 230p.
So since we can't sell the rights (as compensation for a reduced stake in the company) we're pretty much forced to take up the open offer or put up
Can we sell our rights issue shares on the market straight away? I imagine the institutional placing must have some sort of conditions attached - like

Conventional chart wisdom says the price pulls back to fill the gap, the base of the gap then acting as support for a continuation of the upward move.
