09/8/2018 15:03 | bocase9 Aug '18 - 13:41 - 19717 of 19719 Regas: "When IQE roared from 120p [25-09-17] to 181.5p [22-11-17] over a period of 2 months, do you think that 61.5p rise was mainly due to shorters closing?" You would think so wouldn't you but strangely shorts with positions > 0.5% increased during that period from 5.95% to 6.73% -End- Thanks for that bocase, most interesting. I think we can safely say then that the 60p+ increase was almost entirely due to ramping [on here and on iii] which in turn brought on a stampede of buying mainly from small PI's. If that is the case, the bloke who was responsible for it will be welcomed back by me with open arms and he can ramp it to the high heavens once again. As I said in a post or two back, "The share price hit 181.5p last November and it could well happen again - sooner rather than later". All we need is an army of punters/gamblers to get carried away - AGAIN! What we want is more, "Cheap as chips under 185p and 225p by AGM 2018". But of course, that AGM year will now have to be changed to 2019. It matters not that Edison says it's fairly priced at around 105p. Even the most pessimistic 'broker' Deutsche Bank has a target price of 115p [albeit reduced from 140p] so we have reasons to be optimistic if not euphoric! GLA! | ![]() regasclockwork

Many panic and sell along the way through fear of losing their hard earned dosh. When IQE roared from 120p [25-09-17] to 181.5p [22-11-17] over a period of 2 months, do you think that 61.5p rise was mainly due to shorters closing? | ![]() regasclockwork

09/8/2018 10:39 | Davehulb9 Aug '18 - 09:09 - 19704 of 19711 0 1 0 Sorry a bit of a novice here but if volumes are low wouldn’t that be when the shorter would try and drive the price down? ____________________ Shorters can afford to let the stock rise on low volume; they might even join in as it wouldn't cost them too much. Then short the hell out of it back to £1. They have been churning the stock this way for some time. | ![]() blueforce
09/8/2018 10:27 | Davehulb: "Sorry a bit of a novice here but if volumes are low wouldn’t that be when the shorter would try and drive the price down?" Dave, yes of course you are right but it can work both ways. On days with small volumes, like now, any large shareholder can also pump the price up with very little extra buying, benefitting his larger holding. I suspect the buying we have seen over the last few days though is the share price catching up with events as the time when IQE will deliver draws ever closer. There may of course be shorters beginning to close ahead of results and what, hopefully, will be a very bullish forward statement. The shares, after all are now cheap sitting on a PEG of 0.6 | ![]() bocase
09/8/2018 10:00 | Moving to Main market needs a lot of complaince and for that you need a CFO which at the moment we dont have. IQE should get one asap. No movement has been report on the short tracker for August. Shorts were betting more on Trade war and it has cooled down.It looks like we will be trading around 120-128s before the statement | ![]() mhassanriaz
09/8/2018 09:46 | All we need IMO is for IQE to signal their intention to move to the main market. Leaving the AIM cesspit would enable other restricted funds to invest! | ![]() suejarvie
09/8/2018 09:30 | Those reasons are now pretty opaque, back in late 2017 they were clear enough and a case was put forward, opportunistic and 'muddy' though it was. But the boot is now firmly on the other foot. This business is delivering on its strategy; growing rapidly whilst mitigating risk by launching new product lines into new mass markets and increasing it's production bandwidth. Why, oh why double-down now? I can see all hell breaking lose following the interim statement. Very dangerous indeed to under-estimate the market opportunity and breadth of intellectual property under IQE's bonnet. | paradores
09/8/2018 09:26 | Quite surprised that it's not falling today. Half expected to see our dear old friend '105.00' again but I may just be wrong. Shorters must be taking a day off! | ready2rumble

09/8/2018 09:11 | If people hold their shares Regas, you won't need rampers to drive us to £2+, the shorts will do it for us! Outperformance, top line growth, new contracts, new production facilities, new products, mass market diversification - IQE have significant tail winds. Why in heaven's name short that backdrop quite so suicidally? Bonkers. | paradores

09/8/2018 09:01 | I too am looking forward to today as I do every day. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure I'm still here. If we finish in the BLUE today it will be 5 days in a row that we have done so. That's something that we have not enjoyed since week 21-08-2017 to 25-08-2017 according to my archive. Fingers crossed we make it 6 days in a row by 'close of play' on Friday. All we need to do is persuade punters that it was driven up to the ludicrous price of 181.5p on 22-11-2017, probably due to persistent ramping and that it can happen again. I sincerely hope so as I'm sure most on here also do. GLA! | ![]() regasclockwork
09/8/2018 08:48 | Which is exactly their game, 'spin'. Increasingly they seem to be losing a grip on directional momentum - of course they lost the narrative some time ago (Q. Did they ever have it..?) On a two year view, I see a good value 'in' price sub £1.30 and doubt we'll now see a return to sub £1, here's hoping mind. Next few days will be crucial. Just over two trading weeks for shorts. The walls are closing in. | ![]() knackers |
