Nothing new.. but mention by Investomania today.

"IQE’s performance from a business perspective continue to improve in my opinion. Its financial position seems to have been boosted by its fundraising from last year, and this has provided it with the capacity to move ahead with mass-market growth opportunities. With the IQE share price having a PEG ratio of around 0.6, it seems to offer a margin of safety.

Therefore, while investor sentiment towards the Footsie may be relatively uncertain at the moment, I think that there are growth opportunities on offer which could perform well in the long run."

Apple's share price blasted past the $200 mark for the first time following results.

Someone on here said that as Apple and IQE are 'joined at the hip', why hasn't the latter enjoyed a similar share price rise?

I think I'm right in saying that IQE gets a payment for every iPhone shipped with its technology inside.

Although Apple's iPhone sales didn't increase to any large degree over the period, sales of the top-end phones did and that's where the increased profit came in. And, on top of that I believe they made an additional $10bn from services such as apps and much more. Can't really expect, IQE's share price to soar on 'flattish' iPhone sales.

Whatever, it's nice to see IQE's share price moving in the right direction for a change. Let's hope it continues that way. GLA!

Shorts now have little more than 17 days to fix things.

IQE looking very tightly held at these prices.

I'm still waiting for my 108p !

Shareprice creeping ever closer though.

Fully expect to reach 110p and more as the indices are bullish at present and the bots are buying IQE.

Follow the bots !

Shorts may need to recruit "The Sons of Glendower" to 'toast' IQE's Newport foundry - not sure how else they're gonna get those positions covered. Not a cat's hope!

SP 105 - Very fair price with @100m shorts. I think I can live with that.

Other picks from the report, better market position than competitors and no loan debt, in fact pile of cash sitting in the bank.

Potential upside risk. Probably true when you consider the above.

Peargar, but there remains a glaring problem for shorters - their 'fabricated' case isn't even wafer thin (I know/cough!).

In the coming months shorters will increasingly find themselves competing for whatever stock is made available at these levels.

Be in no doubt, the squeeze is coming...

There may be an 11% short position but the Edison report suggests that IQE is currently fairly valued with some potential risk being on the upside. I would be happy to see a 50% short figure if the company is likely to execute well and outperform estimates. I suspect that shorters have several months to close their positions whilst we wait for likely 2020 figures to come into clearer view. If only we had 2020 vision! :-)

Does anyone remember what happened to shorters of VW when they discovered that the number of available shares that were not locked up in long term holders who wouldn't budge was significantly smaller than the total short position when the price was heading up? I believe that I am correct in saying that they made the largest losses in corporate history....

I am using this and lse. I find they are both informative. I agree II are mad to have done what they did. They had the best site and trashed it overnight. I'd like to see the user figures now!

@rar100

I think you'll find that many previously used both of the sites, however, most are not using ii anymore. I agree, their recent UI change is pretty disgusting and completely out of touch with their userbase.

It's very bizarre that a customer-focused company such as a PI broker/trader would lock horns with their customers on a unanimously bad decision.

Risk to the upside with room for upgrades. 2019 should be punchy and no doubt we'll hear more in the coming weeks/months as the production facilities and forward order book take shape.

Shorts still have to buy back and am not at all certain their original motivations are valid - certainly very little, if anything, to justify such an aggressive stance in the recent trading statement, broker-analyst and press coverage etc. Most irregular and now highly problematic.

Any posters here from Interactive Investor? I'm looking for a good bulletin board and also a new trading platform since ii ruined their site.
All comments very welcome.
